What Findings did we discover at the Flea Market ? [EN - FR]
Hi everyone !
Today I discovered with pleasure that the flea market season has started again ! Indeed, with the nice weather coming back, I will be able to indulge in what was once a real addiction. I couldn't leave a place like this without buying a whole bag of original, strange and possibly useful things - although this is rarely the case !
Yesterday, we were celebrating a friend's birthday and we came home quite late, so I got up accordingly ^^. As an automatism, I connected to the Paris flea market website and discovered that there was one on the north side of the Montmartre hill.
Here is the following coverage...
You may not realize it, but the pavements were crowded, but it was a good photography exercise ! Finding interesting framing, visually interesting things and all this without blocking the traffic ! Tell me what you thought of it haha :)
What I like about these gatherings is the diversity and accumulation. You can find everything and as most of the exhibitors are professionals, you can expect a bit more quality and age in the objects. Then, of course, there is something for everyone !
Many stands selling only silverware...
Those who make design from the 60s and 70s...
More 'creepy' stands like the one above ! Each element is not necessarily weird in itself but it is the gathering that creates this impression of strangeness.
One of the few things I still buy are old photographs. As a writer, I find that they make perfect documentation, you'll see a bit further on the ones I've selected...
Of course, there are those who collect pin's.
Many tools, kitchen utensils, tables full of old clocks and even piles of orange tiles.
Here are a few stalls grouped together that sell more antique objects from Asia. I confess that I always think that they could just as well be much more recent fakes.
Stalls covered with dishes taking the sun...
I also like the way things are arranged, the relationships that develop between things that would never have met in another context... Here I found something else, you have to guess ;)
Chinese tableware, which is actually made in England, and a small camping table covered with various decorative or everyday ceramic objects...
We end this visual, curious and colorful journey with these few stands, all the while making our way through the crowd...
I notice this street and this old brick building with its large openings. North Pole Street.
Here are my few finds, two books, one on money and its applications and the other on applied psychology.
Then come a whole series of photos, mostly of landscapes or monuments, with also some scenes with people, in portrait or with wider framing...
Finally, two old bells... This is the last collection I still maintain as I find these objects very interesting in terms of sound, origin and shape. By the way, if you have original and authentic bells, I might be interested haha ^^ !
I hope you are well and have a good Sunday. Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoyed your visit !
Take good care and see you soon,
<3

<3

Porcelain!
It is very easy to check whether it is fake or not, although English is significantly different from the others, it is heavier, brittle and has a different texture.
I'm always hunting for vintage pieces, I'm so sorry that this kind of flea market is not held here.
Thanks you for the tips 😉 will try to set that in action for the next flea markets !
Yeah, it's a bit bad there isn't if you love those places... May I ask you where are you coming from ?
Serbia here! Lack of good pieces on our flea market [near capital only], no one care about the presentation, you have to dig like on a dump.:D
Glad to share, had a chance to work with and learn a bit about it.
Looking forward to it!
Oh, that's nice ! Thanks you for sharing that article :)
My girlfriend is also a ceramist, but not really specialized in porcelain..
Haha, I can imagine that, there's some part of flea markets that look a bit like that here too ^^ !
Have a nice day 🍀
That is so cool! I guess she is more into pottery, which is also fantastic!
Thank you!
Have a great one (:
Oh, no, she's more into artistic ceramic, but she does functional things too :D
Hope you'll have a nice weekend, take care 🌟
