Day Two - Planting Trees and others plants under the Rain

avatar

And the abundance adventures begin again ! Unfortunately, apart from at the start and for setting up, it rained for the rest of the day... But that didn't stop us from continuing our crazy planting adventure.

These are just some of the new trees that will soon be integrated into the photo-garden. A new plum tree, an apple tree and another pear tree. I like the idea of having the same trees several times over, as they will fertilize each other.

These are our tools, ready for use again ! Just below in the wheelbarrow, we've already prepared a good layer of organic matter for them, so as not to leave the soil bare.

But here are several other plants we also put in the ground that day. Honeysuckle and huckleberry !

There's also this Japanese maple and a Mexican orange tree. Two more decorative trees that I also like, although I have to say that the ornamental part of the garden is more my companion's. Don't get me wrong, I love flowers, but I prefer the edible kind even more !

Here's my partner and a friend planting...

For my part, I'm looking after this little Bergonia...

I also plant the honeysuckle and passionflower, both leaning on either side of the small metal structure that's perfect for gripping plants like these.

The planting continues and I take the opportunity to go up and plant a few more trees...

This one is an Albizia or "Silk Tree", so it's purely decorative, but the flowers are truly magnificent and I can only recommend that you take a closer look during an internet search.

Next, I'm looking after this tiny Gingko Biloba, a tree I really like because it's a true survivor from immemorial times.

Next comes my favorite, the chestnut tree !! This one isn't in the orchard as such, as I'm hoping to make it as big and imposing as possible. That's why I've chosen to put it higher up on the plot, so that its shade doesn't disturb the other fruit trees too much.

Finally, I give it some protection, which I hope will be as effective as possible, so that it doesn't get attacked too much by the deer that come from the forest. I don't know what the result will be, but as this one costs over 400 HIVE, I prefer to protect it... After all, trees in prison aren't necessarily my thing either ^^ !

That's it for this second and final part of the plantation. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stay on site this week, but I'll be there for most of December !

I hope you've enjoyed this article and its contents, and don't hesitate if you have any tips related to planting trees and other plants :)

Thanks for visiting, take care,

<3

Yuhh great job👍 Also I have couple questions. Do you use special soil for Huckleberry or it's just a common soil? And how do you plan to water all this plants during hot season?

Thank you ver much :)

Nope, just used the soil that was here, we’ll see how it works !

About the watering, I was thinking to build a roof only to collect rain. In fact, as the land is a slope, it will be easy to make it flow :)

So many trees! <3
I did google Albizia and wow :D... it reminds a bit of a bottlebrush tree that I see around here. Equally fluffy :)

Planting trees is cool and we all know how important trees are when it comes to oxygen
You’re doing a great job
Keep it up!

Exactly, plus they’re completely made of carbon, so a great and simple solution at the same time :))

Excuse me, what? This Chestnut tree costs over 400 Hive? That's, like, 150 dollars on average? I just did some research in Turkey and it costs 500 TL, about 18 dollars. I hope that doesn't upset you too much haha.

Gardening is tiring but I'm so glad you're getting the job done man!

😂 haha ! I know… here, all sectors tend to abuse a lot :) Here, it was the plants seller ^^ it was 124 € 😱

But well, I’m sure I could find cheaper one with more research !

Have a good day, and I will give you my birthday date so you’ll be able to send enough to do a forest of chestnut trees 😅

Haha, I know, but we’ve this HIVE currency in common, anyway, I’ll not ask you to buy me chestnut trees, would be to expensive to send to France 😅

My birthday coincides with my Hive anniversary, in the start of May hehe !

Have a good day dear ✌️

So we started Hive at the same date? That's pretty crazy man hahaha. You and me both 10th May. I dunno if we talked about it before.

Yeah I even don't know how to send a chestnut tree but I can send you some Hive at your birthday as a gift!

It seems that it is raining in your area right now. Here in our town, it hasn't rained for a month now even if we are still in the rainy season. But the weather turns from hot to cool when the wind blows (randomly).

Wow! That's an expensive chestnut tree! Don't they hand out free ( or cheap ) young trees to people like you who aim to bring back nature and natural abundance?

And have you thought of using HBD ( savings ) instead of Hive?

Hugs from Portugal!💚

Indeed ! Only ones that I could find near by :)

In fact I didn't pay through Hive, prefer to keep them ^^ This was to illustrate the cost of it with our common currency !
