Mimosa pudica is a short shrub belonging to the legume family that is easily recognized because its leaves can quickly close or wilt by themselves when touched, which is temporary because after a few minutes, the condition returns to normal.

The sensitive plant is a short shrub belonging to the legume family that is easily recognized by its leaves that can quickly close/wilt on their own when touched.

My friend.......
Although there are several other plants that can do the same thing, this plant reacts more quickly than other types, and is temporary because after a few minutes, its condition will return to normal. This plant also has many other names according to its nature, such as in the Philippines it is called "mekahiya" which means shy. While in our regional language, Aceh, this plant is usually known as "peh mie" which means cat plant. Also in our common language, namely Indonesian which we use in everyday life, this plant is known as the "shy plant" plant.

As I said above, the unique thing about this plant is that when its leaves are touched, blown on, or heated, they will immediately close. This is caused by changes in turgor pressure in the leaf veins. This stimulus can also be felt by other leaves that are not touched. This is also done by this plant to protect itself from plant-eating animals that want to eat it.Como mencioné anteriormente, la particularidad de esta planta es que al tocar, soplar o calentar sus hojas, estas se cierran inmediatamente. Esto se debe a cambios en la presión de turgencia de las nervaduras. Este estímulo también lo pueden sentir otras hojas que no se tocan. Esta planta también lo hace para protegerse de los animales herbívoros que quieren comérsela.

My friends...
The unique thing about this plant is that when its leaves are touched, they close.
This movement is called seismonasty, even though it is influenced by touch. For example, the seismonasty of mimosa leaves is independent of the direction of the touch.

This plant also closes at sunset and opens again after sunrise, a phenomenon that also occurs in other plants.

A little about this plant: the lower leaves of the mimosa plant are paler. Therefore, by displaying a pale color, animals that previously wanted to eat the plant will think it has wilted and will no longer be interested in eating it.

Okay, my friends, those are some images with short captions on my blog this time. I hope you all enjoyed and enjoyed what I shared. See you next time.
Also for further information you can see it in the link that I have shared below, which link is also my reference in creating this blog.

Greetings,
Mimosa ability to fold its leaves when touched will always impress me.
Nature's ingenious designs has so much to teach us.
Do you know if this plant has any cultural significance in your region?

Greetings also friend @oadissin, Thank you very much for your kind comment.
Yes, sometimes nature teaches us many things, and regarding the sensitive plant, this plant has a deep cultural meaning in my area, where it often symbolizes gentleness, as the movement of the leaves closing, besides that our parents also often symbolize it as a symbol of Resilience, that is because even though it looks "weak", the ability to recover and reopen the leaves of the plant teaches about resilience and the ability to bounce back after difficulties. once again, Thank you very much for your visit and have a nice day❤❤

Saludos @antonydossantos, ver esta planta, me recuarda la infancia, cerca de mi casa habían varias y solíamos jugar con ellas, les tocabamos las hojas para que durmieran, aquí se le conoce como dormilona.

I’ve always been fascinated by the shy plant. In our country, we call it makahiya and it’s incredible how it reacts so quickly to touch and protects itself.
