Good evening, my friends, wherever you are. I hope you are all healthy and happy so you can go about your daily activities as usual. I hope you all have a pleasant day.
In this blog, I want to share some images and a short article about how I would change the world if I were the president of a country's Ministry of Environment.
Continue following my blog to see some of the steps or actions I would take.

A few days ago I had the opportunity to visit and enter the customary forest area which is one of the areas whose ecosystem is managed and protected by the local community. In the forest, I saw some extraordinary damage and these are some of the pictures I took when I entered the customary forest area, where I began to see the damage on the way

| Regarding the steps or actions that I will take to change this planet, which if I say in this blog is very difficult, it is not difficult because there is nothing that can be done, but on the contrary, there are many things that need to be fixed and improved, which if we make one blog to say everything, it might take an unreasonable amount of time, as well as the writing that I made in this simple blog, it will create a very long blog, from that I decided to focus on two main points for me to change the world, if I were the president of the Ministry of Environment of a country. |
My friend....
There are so many steps or actions that need to be fixed and improved to change this planet, and the two main ways I would change the world if I were the president of a country's Ministry of Environment are to encourage people to switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources and another is to maintain nature conservation which is very important for the future of our planet.

geothermal, solar and wind are renewable energy sources
| English | Español |
|---|---|
| Renewable energy is one of the solutions to the world's energy crisis and this is one of my main ways to change this world if I were a Minister of Environment, I think the step to switch to renewable energy is one of the powerful ways that I need to prioritize for me to agree on in changing this planet. |
My friends...
For over 100 years, the world has relied heavily on fossil fuels like oil, natural gas, and coal to meet its ever-increasing energy demand. However, it is now clear that relying solely on these non-renewable energy sources will no longer work. As we know, these fossil fuels release large amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, accelerating dangerous climate change and having a truly devastating impact on the environment.
Let's be honest, my friends, our world still relies heavily on fossil fuels to meet most of our energy needs. In fact, experts estimate that around 80% of global energy use still comes from non-renewable resources. This includes my country, Indonesia, where gas and coal are sources of energy to meet the needs of its people. This is because my country is one of the largest producers of coal and oil in the world.
But the harsh reality is that fossil fuels have a significant impact, one of which is climate change.
Furthermore, health and environmental damage are also challenges. As you know, my country's capital, Jakarta, is the most polluted city in the world, a very worrying situation at the moment. This is inseparable from the use of non-renewable energy by large factories. Greenhouse gas emissions are also another contributing factor.
Then the question arises: what are the benefits of switching to renewable energy?
My friends...
Switching to renewable energy has extraordinary benefits, one of which is improved public health.
Unlike the production and combustion of fossil fuels, most renewable energy technologies produce only small amounts of air and water pollutants over their life cycle. Reducing particulate matter from coal-fired power plants will prevent asthma, lung disease, and smog. It may seem trivial, but the impact on society is extraordinary in just a decade.

The beauty and also the large trees that grow in the customary forest area managed by the local government

| The second thing that I prioritize to change this planet is to maintain nature conservation which is very important for the future of our planet, which is the next step that I will agree to change this planet. | La segunda cosa que priorizo para cambiar este planeta es mantener la conservación de la naturaleza que es muy importante para el futuro de nuestro planeta, que es el siguiente paso que aceptaré para cambiar este planeta. |
My friends...
In recent decades, the issue of nature conservation has increasingly received global attention, including the alarming rate of deforestation, the decline in species populations, and the apparent climate change that is occurring in my country, Indonesia.
Therefore, it is crucial for all of us around the world to understand why nature conservation is a crucial step in changing the future of our planet.
Nature conservation is the effort to protect and manage natural resources sustainably. This includes protecting forests, oceans, and various other life forms, as well as maintaining ecosystem balance.
Why is nature conservation important?
One of the main reasons for nature conservation is to preserve biodiversity. This encompasses all life on Earth, from microorganisms to large animals, and is crucial for the health of our planet. Ecosystems rich in biodiversity are more stable and better able to withstand change. For example, the Amazon rainforest is known as the lungs of the world. Similarly, one of the forests in my country, the Kalimantan forest, is also considered the lungs of the world today. With habitat loss due to logging, many species are currently threatened in that region.
In addition, nature conservation also plays a vital role in combating climate change. Forests, oceans, and other ecosystems serve as effective carbon sinks.
So, what happens if we don't conserve?
The first thing that will happen is species extinction. Currently, nearly one million species are on the verge of extinction, largely due to human activity. The primary cause is none other than us humans. Once again, I say it, us humans.
What follows is ecosystem destruction and a natural resource crisis.
My friends...
Nature conservation is not just about protecting flora and fauna but also about creating a sustainable future for our planet. By understanding the importance of biodiversity, climate change, and natural resources, we can take appropriate action to prevent further damage. Through education, policy support, and active participation, we can all contribute to maintaining environmental stability for future generations.

Some of this damage is caused by us humans ourselves who damage nature and this damage is in the form of landslides. These are some pictures that I took which show the customary forest area which has had a landslide, also one of the remote villages which was affected
| English | Español |
|---|---|
| The landslide that hit Sumatra in the last few days is one of the impacts of natural damage by us humans and these are some pictures that I took which show one of the remote villages where several residents' houses were affected by the natural disaster of the landslide. |
Have you seen the news about the natural disasters that have struck Sumatra, including my area, in the past few days?
My friends...
The primary cause of these natural disasters is not solely the cyclones that passed over Sumatra Island; rather, the destruction of nature by humans is also a factor that we must consider, and it has had a tremendous impact.
I have stated several times in previous blogs that protected forest areas in the region are currently experiencing significant damage. I see this damage, but what can be done? The central government is not firm in making decisions, acting as if it is a trivial matter. And when natural disasters strike, it seems like nature is evil, when in fact, we humans are the primary cause.
Geographically, Sumatra Island has a humid tropical climate, making it always vulnerable to heavy rainfall. Environmental damage, such as deforestation in the mountains and narrowing of rivers, makes this region a ticking time bomb for disaster. Without serious action, each peak rainy season could bring similar disasters in the future.
Nature has a limited carrying capacity and capacity to withstand extreme weather events, and that capacity is highly dependent on environmental sustainability. When we humans damage the environment beyond its limits, nature will retaliate with devastating disasters.
Therefore, future disaster risk reduction and mitigation efforts must balance structural and ecological approaches.

Some of the small beauties that I captured with my makeshift cell phone lens when I entered and looked into the inner areas of the customary forest in the last few days
Okay, friends, those are some of the images and short articles I've written on this blog, in my attempt to follow the context of this beloved community. I can conclude that in changing this world, if I were to one day hold the position of Minister of the Environment, the two main things I would focus on are encouraging people to switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources and preserving nature, which is crucial for the future of our planet.
I also want to remind you all in this communication to protect the forests, as they are the lungs of the world. As you can see, the recent disasters in my region have been devastating, leaving people crying, starving, and even killing over 1,000 people. It's a little sad, but what can I do? I ask for prayers from all my friends in this community, that the region will recover from the disasters that struck at the end of last year.
That's all for now. I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you who have taken the time to view and read my blog to the end. Please leave your comments, support, and input, which will greatly help me create a better blog in the future.
Greetings, everyone.
See you on my next blog.

Thank you for participating! I'm glad you joined this initiative. Your focus on renewable energy and nature conservation is, in my opinion, two very important points. I wish you the best of luck in the contest. Just one piece of advice: don't repeat the same photos too much. Some curators see it as "filling a post." .🚩🗺️🌄
Wow...
Thank you so much my friend @biologistbrito for your advice, it means a lot to me. By the way, this is my blog to participate in an ongoing contest. Do I need to share this post entry in the main comment section of the contest blog?
No, I already passed it on to the jury! Don't worry.
