I am pleased to be back in this beautiful community where we can get to know a great diversity of places. Knowing our spaces enriches our personal lives, but also helps us to strengthen our sense of belonging and to promote or encourage tourism.

I live in Venezuela, in the city of Cumaná, which is located in the State of Sucre. We have many beautiful places, especially beaches, but today I invite you to take a tour of a natural space in the middle of the city, next to the Manzanares River that runs through the city. This place is the Guaiquerí Park, which is located within a quadrant of several avenues: Arismendi, Gómez Rubio, Bermúdez and Aristiguieta.

As I mentioned before, being right in the centre of the city, it is surrounded by a series of commercial establishments of all kinds: grocery stores, supermarkets, shoe shops, restaurants, informal traders and other types of retailers. Due to its location, it is close to the historical and colonial centre of the city, which houses a wide variety of buildings full of cultural history, such as: the San Antonio de la Eminencia Castle, the San Francisco neighbourhood, the houses of our outstanding poets: Andrés Eloy Blanco and Antonio Ramos Sucre. It is also close to several churches and squares: Catedral Metropolitana del Corazón de Jesús, Basílica Menor de Santa Inés and the Santuario Nuestra Señora de Altagracia.

It opened its doors in 1977. It has children's areas, cabins, pedestals for piñatas, toilets, drinking fountains, an acoustic shell, paths, courts and sports machines; all of which make it a well-deserved and pleasant place for the enjoyment and healthy recreation of the family and the whole community.

This natural and recreational environment is the ideal place to be in contact with nature. Among the most common tree species found in this green lung are: apamate, mango, tamarind, tapara. It is nice to hear the birds singing and to see a diversity of birds flying from one tree to another. I took the photos in the company of my friend @elamaria, with whom I shared a nice time, among friends. We walked and trained a bit. We talked a lot and, in the meantime, we were able to clear our minds of the week's responsibilities. We stayed until noon.

The Guaiquerí Park is open from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. The signs allow us to calculate the distance of the activity. It also has a government office (Inparques) that is in charge of preserving the park's spaces; there is even a command of the Bolivarian National Guard of Venezuela. On the other hand, it is worth noting that, as far as its green areas are concerned, there is currently evidence of a lamentable deterioration in certain spaces. Even so, I am sure that one day, not too far away, its soil will be a green carpet again.

Usually, visitors come here for various activities, including meetings, parties, games, self-defence training, meetings, yoga practice, jogging, walking, volleyball, basketball and indoor football training, among others. It is common to find groups of students and seniors taking a stroll, children playing in the specific areas, people reading a book and lovers meeting.

On the other hand, there is no need to worry about transportation; there are taxi, mototaxi, bus and car lines per stall. Really, if you stay in a nearby hotel or inn, there is no excuse for not visiting the Parque Recreativo Guaiquerí.

Complacida de estar de nuevo en esta bonita comunidad donde podemos conocer una gran diversidad de lugares. Conocer nuestros espacios enriquece nuestra vida personal, pero además de que, nos ayuda a fortalecer el sentido de pertenencia y a promover o fomentar el turismo.
Vivo en Venezuela, en la ciudad de Cumaná, que está ubicada en el Estado Sucre. Tenemos muchos lugares lindos, especialmente playas, pero hoy los invito a hacer un recorrido por un espacio natural que queda en medio de la ciudad, al lado del río Manzanares que atraviesa a la ciudad. Este sitio es el Parque Guaiquerí, el cual está localizado dentro de un cuadrante de varias avenidas: Arismendi, Gómez Rubio, Bermúdez y Aristiguieta.
Como mencioné antes, por quedar en pleno centro de la ciudad, está rodeado de una serie de locales comerciales de todo tipo: abastos, supermercados, zapaterías, restaurantes, comerciantes informales y otras clases de expendedores. Por su ubicación, tiene cerca del casco histórico y colonial de la ciudad; que alberga una amplia variedad de edificaciones llenas de historia cultural; como: el Castillo San Antonio de la Eminencia, el barrio San Francisco, las casas de nuestros destacados poetas: Andrés Eloy Blanco y Antonio Ramos Sucre. De igual modo, es un punto cercano a varias iglesias y plazas: Catedral Metropolitana del Corazón de Jesús, Basílica Menor de Santa Inés y el Santuario Nuestra Señora de Altagracia.
Abrió sus puertas en el año 1977. Consta de áreas infantiles, cabañas, pedestales para piñatas, baños, bebederos, una concha acústica, caminerías, canchas y máquinas deportivas; todo lo cual hace que sea un merecido y agradable lugar para el disfrute y sano esparcimiento familiar y de toda la comunidad.
Este ambiente natural y recreativo es el lugar ideal para estar en contacto con la naturaleza. Entre las especies de árboles más comunes que se encuentran en este pulmón vegetal, cuentan: apamate, mango, tamarindo, tapara. Es lindo escuchar el cantar de los pájaros y ver una diversidad de aves volando de un árbol a otro. Tomé el registro de fotos en compañía de mi amiga @elamaria, con quien compartí un rato ameno, entre amigas. Caminamos y entrenamos un poco. Conversamos mucho y, mientras tanto, pudimos despejar la mente de las responsabilidades de la semana. Estuvimos hasta el mediodía.
El Parque Guaiquerí está abierto desde las 8:00 am hasta las 5:00 pm. Las señalizaciones nos permiten calcular la distancia de la actividad. Igualmente, tiene una oficina gubernamental (Inparques) que se encarga de preservar los espacios del parque; incluso hay un comando de la Guardia Nacional Bolivariana de Venezuela. Por otro lado, vale señalar que, en cuanto a sus áreas verdes, actualmente, se evidencia un lamentable deterioro en ciertos espacios. Aun así, estoy segura de que algún día, no muy lejano, su suelo será una alfombra verde de nuevo.
Usualmente, los visitantes acuden a realizar diversas actividades, entre reuniones, fiestas, juegos, entrenamientos de defensa personal, reuniones, prácticas de yoga, trotar, caminar, entrenamientos de voleibol, básquetbol y fútbol sala, entre otros. Es frecuente encontrar grupos de estudiantes y personas mayores dando un paseo, niños jugando en las áreas específicas, personas leyendo un libro y encuentro de enamorados.
Por otro lado, no hay que preocuparse por el transporte; encontramos líneas de taxi, mototaxi y buses y carros por puesto. Realmente, si te alojas en algún hotel o posada que queda cerca, no hay excusa para visitar el Parque Recreativo Guaiquerí.
Si alguna vez tienen como destino la ciudad de Cumaná, no dejen de visitar el Parque Guaiquerí. Pasen un buen día y nos encontramos en otra vuelta de paseo.
