The cradle of humanity
Hello
Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing wonderfully. I am very happy, even very pleased, to be able to count myself among you once again after two week. I will talk about the idea behind my painting, then I will try to develop it a little, to explain a little the different elements present in my painting. However, I may sometimes erase elements of the painting, or even the entire painting if I feel that the rendering of the painting does not meet the desired effect. In any case, I believe it is the duty of an artist to constantly question their work, that is to say, to erase the painting even if the creation of the latter took an enormous amount of time. This will allow for a final painting of such originality that it will amaze, attract, and arouse the curiosity of anyone who lays eyes on it.
In this image, we can see a Black, African, pregnant woman, signifying the origin of humanity. Africa is the cradle of humanity. The woman is the being who gives life. The fetus, the child holding an egg, is the door of no return. @aliz7575
The fetus has a map of Africa sketched on its head, again to signify that Africa is, remains, and continues to be the cradle of humanity.
The fetus carefully holds an egg in its hands, thus showing how precious life is, how important it is, and how much it also values its life. @littlebee4
The cowrie shell necklace worn by the curvaceous Black woman is synonymous with her belonging to African culture and its richness.
The door of no return is the one through which slaves passed before being deported to America and other lands.
The plane in which I painted the door of no return doesn't seem judicious or satisfactory enough given the future elements I plan to add to the painting. I therefore decide to erase it, even if I have to redo it later with a suitable perspective.
Here's my palette, mostly blue, to correct the blue sky, recreated as it was originally. It will also be used to correct the blue of the sea and the waves. @justclickindiva
I pause, step back to observe the painting in its entirety to get a general idea of the result after the brief corrections. After observation, I'm still not satisfied. I need to standardize the colors and their effects in both the sky and the sea. @ibbtammy
I start again and step back again. Happy with the sky rendering, but not really with the sea rendering. @oadissin
I start again one last time, and here is the result.
The general, veiled idea of the painting is that of an African king from West Africa who played a major role during the slavery period by standing up to the colonizers. While waiting for the next brushstrokes and what's to come, I'll let you guess the name of this king. @heroldius
I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. In the meantime, take care and may your lives be full of blessings.
