Decir adiós diciembre y bienvenido enero, es tan grande como decir adiós 2025, bienvenido 2026… son dos sentimientos inmensamente poderosos, y entrelazados. Se trata de mis dos meses favoritos por todo lo que reúnen, y su prolongación me mantiene en modo alegría, nostalgia, celebraciones, y reflexiones de un lado a otro. Desde el espíritu de la navidad en adelante, comienzan a brotar mis deseos, hasta llegar al día de mi cumpleaños en enero.

Decir adiós diciembre es triste porque amo la navidad y ella me regala todo lo que mi niña interior necesita para obtener paz y alegría, yo sigo anclada en las navidades de antiguas generaciones, las de los años 70, 80 y 90, las de mi infancia y mi juventud, y aunque no puedan ser iguales en forma tangible, evocarlas es maravilloso… bendita tecnología que nos lo ha permitido.

Yo rescato en lo posible mucho de ellas, en las tradiciones familiares de oír gaitas y aguinaldos, ver muchas películas y comics navideños, preparar postres y comidas de esta temporada, y decorar en lo posible mi casita con luces y colores. Este mes no fue la excepción, prácticamente pasé toda la temporada preparando comidas y dulces navideños tanto para mi casa como para mi negocio de comidas, y aunque los michis no me dejaron forrar la casa de navidad, yo me las ingenié para integrarla hasta en forma aérea.

No faltaron las celebraciones, compartir navideños, intercambios de regalos, detallitos a diestra y siniestra, por supuesto caminatas y entrenamiento, pijamas con largos maratones de series y películas, paseos, muchos cafecitos y chocolates, largas horas para escribir, terapias fotográficas, y quizás haya olvidado algunas cosas, pero es que fue uno de los meses más activos del año, y eso me llena de satisfacción.

Recibo el año, y el mes de enero con la convicción de que nos esperan cosas mejores, de que nada sucede por casualidad, de que Dios siempre está a nuestro lado guiando nuestros pasos, y nos va a conducir a un año lleno de luz y a un hermoso renacer. Feliz 2026 para todos, gracias por visitar mi blog a lo largo de este 2025… se les aprecia un montón.

Saying goodbye to December and hello to January is as big as saying goodbye to 2025 and hello to 2026… they are two immensely powerful and intertwined feelings. These are my two favorite months for everything they encompass, and their duration keeps me in a state of joy, nostalgia, celebration, and reflection. From the spirit of Christmas onward, my wishes begin to sprout, leading up to my birthday in January.

Saying goodbye to December is sad because I love Christmas, and it gives me everything my inner child needs for peace and joy. I remain anchored in the Christmases of past generations, those of the 70s, 80s, and 90s, those of my childhood and youth, and although they can't be the same in a tangible way, evoking them is wonderful… thank goodness for technology that has allowed us to do so.

I try to preserve as many of them as possible, in family traditions like listening to bagpipes and Christmas carols, watching lots of Christmas movies and comics, preparing desserts and seasonal meals, and decorating my house with lights and colors. This month was no exception; I practically spent the entire season preparing Christmas food and sweets for both my home and my food business. And although the cats wouldn't let me cover the house in Christmas decorations, I managed to incorporate them even in the air.

There were plenty of celebrations, Christmas gatherings, gift exchanges, little gifts left and right, of course walks and workouts, pajama parties with long marathons of series and movies, outings, lots of coffee and chocolate, long hours of writing, photo therapy, and perhaps I've forgotten some things, but it was one of the busiest months of the year, and that fills me with satisfaction.

I welcome the new year and the month of January with the conviction that better things await us, that nothing happens by chance, that God is always by our side guiding our steps, and will lead us to a year full of light and a beautiful rebirth.
