Spider: September 11 2023
The day was generally filled with house chores and looking at some documents but practicing is always on the list as well. I pick up an instrument whenever I have a spare moment these days.
In the evening we went for a longer sort of walk over our wooden foot bridge towards the River Side Park and back by the little cemetery with the allotments across the road when I spotted this little beauty.
I am not a great fan of spiders, guess it's that deeply engrained fear I suppose, but they are quite pretty especially on close-up and when not in your house.. 😄
This one was surrounded by a bit of food as you can see with each image further out.
The last one on the left of the hedge wasn't food though.
That's it for today; Thanks for looking!

We have a few spiders in the house. These with the fat bodies seem to stay outside. They all do a great job controlling the insects, so I'm glad to see them. We are lucky that none of them in the UK are dangerous. The webs look great when there is dew or frost. It is really amazing how they make them.
I learnt recently that they move by pumping blood to their legs. That's why they curl up when they die. Nature is wonderful.

It sure is and spiders are indeed very useful! And I'm not really going mental when I see one.. lol
I didn't know that!
Ow dang, that spider looks cool, but I sure believe you were glad that he was not in your house. And no don't even think about the last one on the left as food for the spider, he's much too cute for that!
🤣 Sure is! That's little Mia!! She says "Hi Skipper".. haha

I am not either but I recall my friend who has a great fear of spider. if it goes in her house she won't be able to sleep until it gets outside. Just the sight of it makes her scream and run as fast and far as she can. 😄
🤣😂
I can say for myself that I'm not that bad.. haha..
Why are some spiders of this kind extinct nowadays. They used to be here some time back and our children know not them.
It's very sad, insects are declining fast too. We take them for granted or even find them to be a nuisance but they're very important.
And you're right, children lose all the knowledge about nature, many don't even know where their food comes from.
Thanks for stopping by!
