Going through this aftermath will take a long time. Stay strong. π
A major Earthquake is bound to happen where we live at some point. We often get 4-5 Mag. but nothing like this YET. Which is why seeing all this destruction is quite painful and ominous.
Keep posting an updating. We'll try to support you as much as possible.

Yes, many countries tend to have seismic activity quite frequently, but nothing prepares you for experiencing two earthquakes almost simultaneously. It's a very strange and devastating event. π
We live in the coast of Ecuador.
In 2016 we had a 7.8 mag in the north. And it affected all of Ecuador, plus bordering areas of Columbia and Peru. Lots of buildings collapsed, but the epicenter was not in a heavily populated part, so not as many high rises as in Venezuela this time around.
