Today I want to share a story that accompanies a series of nighttime screenshots from The Sims 4, with which I am participating in the Gaming Photography Weekly Contest.

The story is titled: A Moonlit Moment.

A Moonlit Moment

The sun was slowly setting behind the mountains of Forgotten Hollow. The village seemed to fall silent; only the distant chirping of a cricket and the whisper of the wind through the branches broke the quiet. Mary, still exhausted from her long journey, set aside her romance novel to get ready and descend the grand staircase of the palace where her fiancé resided.

Silence mingled with the distant murmur of the river. The faint light of the candelabras made it difficult to see, and every corner seemed to hide secrets.
He waited by the bench, with the patience of one who has seen centuries pass. His pale skin and deep, bright blue eyes shone in the dim glow of the lampposts and the full moon.

They greeted each other with a shy smile. The young man, elegant like a knight from another era, quickly offered her a seat beside him.
Their conversation flowed; she spoke with enthusiasm, and he listened with devotion, as if every word were a treasure. Yet behind his calm, a dark and ancient desire lurked.

Time seemed to stand still. The stars, the wind, the murmur of the river… everything had vanished, leaving them in a world that belonged only to them.
Suddenly, she stood up, took his hand, and quickened her pace along the path leading to the river.
—You are cold — she whispered, without letting go of his hand. He smiled sadly.

When their eyes met again, she saw a wild glint, a red flash that was not human. She did not step back; instead, she leaned closer, as if invisible forces irresistibly drew her in.

Mary closed her eyes, leaning in as if to receive a kiss. He, however, gently turned his lips to her neck and began to drink eagerly. Every drop of blood he consumed made him look more real, more alive.
