Yo tengo 5 michis, he tenido más pero ya no nos acompañan en este plano terrenal, y he logrado llegar a las siguientes conclusiones, así que todo lo que te voy a compartir es basado en mi experiencia:

Uno de los mitos que vamos a desmentir es que “los gatos son animales independientes” ¡Error! Es verdad que un gato no requiere tanta dedicación como lo requiere un perro, pero si es necesario que dediques tiempo diario a estar con tu michi, brindarle momentos de juego que mínimo deben ser 30 minutos al día para que logren quemar esa energía necesaria que es beneficiosa para su salud, mantiene su instinto de cazador activo y sobre todo afinar lasos entre tú y tu michi.

2. No deberías adoptar un gato si no vas a dedicarle a la limpieza:
La limpieza es fundamental a la hora de estar a cargo de un gato, ellos hacen sus necesidades en el arenero y debemos en lo posible mantenerlo limpio. Afortunadamente yo trabajo desde casa y estoy pendiente de limpiar cada vez que alguno de mis michis entra al arenero, es muy importante este aseo ya que ellos si ven su arenero sucio van a empezar a desarrollar conductas que pueden afectar hasta su salud como orinar en tus muebles, paredes, etc, o peor aún dejar de hacer sus necesidades. Y no solo el aseo de su arenero, a pesar de que lo más aconsejable es no bañarlos, si es muy necesario cepillarlos y cortar sus uñas, en especial los que son de pelaje largo. Y algo muy importante es que deberás dedicar un poco más de tiempo la limpieza de tu hogar, pero cuando ya se vuelve rutinario no notaras ese pequeño trabajo extra. ¿Quieres conocer mi rutina de aseo?, déjamelo saber en los comentarios.

3. No deberías adoptar un gato si no vas a invertir en el:
Si, acá cuando hablo de invertir me refiero a lo económico. No te voy a mentir en que si debes destinar una buena cantidad de dinero para mantener a un gato, pero yo que he tenido a mi cargo más de 5 gatos he logrado identificar como ahorrar con algunos tips que próximamente tengo pensado en compartir. Debes tener muy presente que ellos necesitan un buen alimento, aunque recuerda que lo más caro no siempre es lo mejor, pero también es bien conocido que lo barato sale caro, así que invierte en un buen alimento. Yo mezclo comida casera con su alimento seco, todo supervisado por el veterinario. Otro gasto que deberás tener presente es cuando tengan alguna complicación de salud debes asumir la compra de sus medicamentos y consultas veterinarias como el mantener al día sus vacunas.

4. No deberías adoptar un gato no tienes paciencia:
Yo creo que este es uno de los puntos más importantes ya que muchas de las causas de abandono son porque las personas no se toman el tiempo de adaptar sus hogares para que los gatos tengan un ambiente apropiado para ellos. Yo siempre he dicho que tener un gato o perro es como tener un niño de 3 años toda tu vida, te van a cometer travesuras, van a sacarte el mal genio varias veces, pero cuanto descubres las razones del porque lo hacen, sus comportamientos mejoran. Te aconsejo que pongas mallas en las ventanas para evitar que se salgan, como lo mencione antes un buen arenero, juguetes, lugares altos (estos son sus favoritos), varios espacios donde se puedan acostar, entre otras. Cada que pasa el tiempo vas descubriendo que es lo que tu gato le gusta y le favorece, así que llenaste de paciencia en todo este proceso.
5. You should not adopt a cat if you are not willing to fall in love:

5. No deberías adoptar un gato si no estás dispuesto a enamorarte:
Esto es algo inevitable, cuando estas a cargo de una mascota no puedes evitar enamorarte de él, recibir el cariño de ellos es indescriptible, ellos siempre serán fiel a ti sin esperar nada a cambio, van a estar a tu lado en todo momento y van a ser tu consuelo en los momentos más difíciles de tu vida, un michi es uno de los animales más sinceros que existen.
