Inauguración de la 66a. Bienal del Sur / Opening of the 66th Biennial of the South ESP/ENG

Aquí les traigo mi nuevo post esperando que lo disfruten.

El día viernes 10 de octubre 2025 se efectuó la inauguración de la 66ª Bienal del Sur, en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Caracas, con una concurrencia bastante numerosa. El auditorio de la Cinemateca Nacional, donde se realizó el acto protocolar, estaba repleto por lo que muchísimas personas se quedaron sin poder entrar. Me tocó quedarme de pie porque todos los asientos estaban ocupados, y lo que pasó fue que adelantaron la hora del inicio y yo no lo había visto, por lo que no pude llegar a tiempo como para sentarme. Hubo palabras del director del Museo, profesor Zacarías García, del artista homenajeado José Dávila, del curador profesor Raúl Chacón y del ministro de cultura Licenciado Ernesto Villegas. Posteriormente se abrieron las salas de exposición, en las que se podían observar grandes obras de los artistas participantes, tanto venezolanos como extranjeros.

On Friday, October 10, 2025, the inauguration of the 66th Biennial of the South took place at the Museum of Fine Arts in Caracas, with a fairly large attendance. The auditorium of the National Cinematheque, where the formal ceremony took place, was packed, so many people were unable to get in. I had to stand because all the seats were taken, and what happened was that the start time was moved up, and I hadn't seen it, so I couldn't get there in time to sit down. Speeches were given by the Museum's director, Professor Zacarías García; the honored artist José Dávila; the curator Professor Raúl Chacón; and the Minister of Culture, Mr. Ernesto Villegas. The exhibition halls then opened, where major works by participating artists, both Venezuelan and international, could be seen.

Me conseguí con personas conocidas, muy queridas, y también conocí gente bien interesante, con quienes pude intercambiar los saludos y muchas ideas y recuerdos. Por esta razón no pude ver las obras en forma exhaustiva, así que tendré que regresar otro día para verlas con mayor detalle. Sin embargo, puedo afirmar que las piezas que pude ver me parecieron espectaculares, realmente maravillosas, fue muy gratificante para la mente y el espíritu ver tanta creatividad de altísima calidad. Les cuento que desde las 11 am hasta las 3 pm estuve en este compartir vivencial, 4 horas de pie, sin bebida ni comida, como suele ser la costumbre de las inauguraciones. Pero no me quejo porque todo ese tiempo lo disfruté al máximo.

Al llegar a mi casa fue cuando sentí el hambre y el cansancio. Por fortuna, tenía almuerzo previamente preparado, una sopita de pollo con verduras que solamente tenía que calentar.

Tomé numerosas fotografías, que las he revisado posteriormente con calma para la selección correspondiente. En este post voy a compartir solo algunas de ellas.

For this reason, I wasn't able to see the works in detail, so I'll have to return another day to see them in more detail. However, I can say that the pieces I did see were spectacular, truly wonderful. It was very gratifying for the mind and spirit to see such high-quality creativity. I can tell you that from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. I was involved in this experiential sharing, standing for four hours, without food or drink, as is usually the case at openings. But I'm not complaining because I enjoyed it to the fullest.

When I got home, I felt hungry and tired. Fortunately, I had lunch prepared beforehand: a chicken and vegetable soup that I just had to heat up.

I took numerous photographs, which I later reviewed at length for the appropriate selection. In this post, I'll share just a few of them.
