Hoy les he traído una selección de imágenes que aluden a la presencia de la abundante diversidad y belleza de las texturas, las cuales brindan mayor profundidad y significado a nuestras experiencias estéticas.

• Dear Hive community, I send you my warmest greetings and best wishes for your well-being. Today I've brought you a selection of images that allude to the abundant diversity and beauty of textures, which lend greater depth and meaning to our aesthetic experiences.

Me atrae la contemplación de las texturas que voy encontrando en cualquier parte adonde vaya, sea en la calle, en el parque, en algunas galerías a las que acostumbro visitar o en mi propia casa. Trato de captar esas imágenes enseguida con mi celular, a falta de una cámara propiamente dicha. Esas texturas me provocan sensaciones que nunca antes he pensado en explicar, que al final terminan gustándome, y ahora me he estado preguntando a qué se debe ese gusto. Por alguna razón, algunas de ellas me producen recuerdos, y en este momento me doy cuenta que casi siempre están ligados a mi infancia, a veces son recuerdos gratos, otros no lo son tanto. En cambio, otras texturas me producen sensaciones nuevas.

• I'm drawn to the textures I find everywhere I go, whether on the street, in the park, in some of the galleries I frequent, or even in my own home. I try to capture these images immediately with my cell phone, since I don't have a proper camera. These textures evoke feelings I've never thought to explain, feelings I end up enjoying, and now I've been wondering why. For some reason, some of them bring back memories, and I realize now that they're almost always linked to my childhood; sometimes they're pleasant memories, other times not so much. Meanwhile, other textures evoke entirely new sensations.

Puedo ver diseños hermosos en las piedras rectangulares del camino, de diferentes tamaños, que me recuerdan mosaicos antiguos de casas que ya no existen. La corteza de los árboles que han sido agujereados, me hace evocar las cercas de estacas de madera de mi primera casa, que eran los límites entre una casa y las otras. Las hojas secas en el suelo, con los pajaritos, me traen a la memoria el patio de mi antigua casa donde pasaba horas jugando con palomas, siendo yo una niña.

• I can see beautiful designs in the rectangular stones of the path, of varying sizes, that remind me of old mosaics from houses that no longer exist. The bark of the trees, riddled with holes, evokes the wooden picket fences of my first house, which marked the boundaries between one house and the others. The dry leaves on the ground, with the little birds, bring back memories of the yard of my old house where I spent hours playing with pigeons as a child.

El enjambre formado por la ramazón seca sin hojas, no es tanto la textura en dos dimensiones, más bien diría tridimensional. Esa imagen y la del pasto seco me recuerdan los paseos que, siendo niña, hacía con mi padre a las granjas en las cuales lo contrataban para trabajar, me visualizo corriendo y jugando muy alegre con una plena sensación de libertad. Los grandes troncos me evocan el tiempo en el que, junto con mis hermanos, solía montarme y hacer maromas en ellos.

• The swarm formed by the dry, leafless branches isn't so much a two-dimensional texture as I'd say it's three-dimensional. That image, along with the dry grass, reminds me of the walks I used to take with my father as a child to the farms where he worked. I picture myself running and playing happily, with a complete sense of freedom. The large tree trunks evoke the time when my brothers and I used to climb them and do somersaults.

Los troncos en descomposición albergan los hongos, plantas saprofitas con hermosos diseños, que son como obras de arte de la naturaleza, y no hechas por humanos. Los mismos troncos con sus oquedades invitan a su exploración y contemplación. Estas texturas me hacen recordar el tiempo precioso que pasé en los talleres de artes plásticas cuando estaba en la educación primaria, eran los tiempos más felices de la escuela en los que podía pintar, expresando mi creatividad con dibujos libres y con muchos colores.

• The decaying logs harbor fungi, saprophytic plants with beautiful patterns, like works of art created by nature, not by humans. The logs themselves, with their hollows, invite exploration and contemplation. These textures remind me of the precious time I spent in art workshops during primary school; those were the happiest times of my school years, when I could paint, expressing my creativity with free-flowing drawings and vibrant colors.

Además de las texturas que se forman de manera natural, también podemos crearlas con la finalidad de estimular nuestra experiencia sensorial, y producir la tendencia a la evocación de un sentido de inspiración en la diversidad. Por ejemplo, la textura de la pared rugosa que pareciera agresiva, lesiva, y sin embargo es tan rica en luces y sombras que provoca tocar esas abundantes irregularidades, y al hacerlo con suavidad ya deja de ser perjudicial y se convierte en una valiosa sensación táctil, resultando entonces amigable. Así mismo, tenemos la textura colorida realizada en una obra de arte, que posteriormente fue expuesta en un espacio artístico.

• In addition to naturally occurring textures, we can also create them to stimulate our sensory experience and evoke a sense of inspiration in diversity. For example, the texture of a rough wall, which might seem aggressive or harsh, is nevertheless so rich in light and shadow that it invites us to touch its abundant irregularities. By doing so gently, it ceases to be harmful and becomes a valuable tactile sensation, ultimately becoming pleasant. Similarly, we have the colorful texture created in a work of art, which is later exhibited in an art space.

Por último, un tenue rayito de luz de la mañana que entra por la ventana, descubre la delicada textura en la pared de mi habitación, que ha pasado inadvertida durante muchos años. Creo que así pasa muchas veces con las cosas sencillas que se nos presenta ante nuestros ojos en la vida cotidiana, que no percibimos la belleza subyacente en los espacios que habitamos, pudiendo disfrutarlos en su contemplación y apreciación estética, libre de fines prácticos.

• Finally, a faint ray of morning light enters through the window, revealing the delicate texture on my bedroom wall, which has gone unnoticed for many years. I think this often happens with the simple things that appear before our eyes in everyday life; we don't perceive the underlying beauty in the spaces we inhabit, even though we could enjoy them through contemplation and aesthetic appreciation, free from practical considerations.
