That bit about paying your respect before taking a photo made me smile; small rituals change the whole mood. I love how fountains become a stage for guardians, turning a quick drink into a moment of gratitude. Probably smart to leave the other park dweller alone, too. Do you have a spot where the protector felt especially watchful?

well, we weren't actually drinking therem just taking a break and enjoying the atmosphere. Near the water is simply the best place for that!
That sounds perfect. I can imagine the gentle splash making the guardian feel extra present. Were there locals stopping by to bow or light incense, or was it mostly quiet while you rested?
