Semolina and Rose Petals Cakes! Healthy, Nutritious and Refreshing!
Hello Everyone, Today we will be making Healthy, Nutritious and Refreshing! Semolina and Rose Petals Cakes! Interesting, Isn't it ! Yes! It is and Its Vegan ! Ofcourse it is !
Let's list the key ingredients of the Vegan #recipe :
Ingredients:
150gm Semolina
100gm Sugar
50ml coconut oil
Sliced raisins and almonds
2 cups boiled water
5 Fresh Red Rose Flowers
Semolina - Its Nutritive Power:
Semolina, derived from "durum wheat", is indeed a very good source of several essential nutrients, such as carbohydrates, protein, fat & fibres, vitamins and several essential minerals like phosphorus, iron and magnesium.
It is a very "nutrient-rich" grain with several potential health benefits.
Almonds and Raisins: Nutritive Power
Almonds, full of nutrition, offer several health benefits. They provide protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats such as monounsaturated & polyunsaturated fats.
Being rich in essential minerals, such as phosphorus, calcium & magnesium they support muscle function & bone health.
Raisins which are actually dried grapes are an absolutely concentrated source of rich, healthy and abundant nutrition in such a small package.
Roses
Red Roses look so beautiful. Roses are for several occasions. The most interesting thing is that Rose Petals are edible and are added to various dishes for its value and essence.
Our dish today, mainly comprises Red Rose Petals. They will add more value to our dish in several ways.
The Rose petals are a good source of several vitamins, minerals & antioxidants.
The key nutrients, that are, found, in the rose petals, are:
Vitamin C
It is an "essential antioxidant" that is found in rose petals that actually supports the "immune system", the "collagen production", and the overall "skin health". Multiple health benefits.
Minerals
Potassium helps to regulate the blood pressure & maintains proper muscle function vital for the body movement.
Calcium is really important for "bone health & muscle function".
Iron is really very crucial for "transporting oxygen" in blood & "preventing anaemia".
Antioxidants
The rose petals contain polyphenols.
These (polyphenols) compounds, protect cells from the "oxidative damage & inflammation" and act as antioxidants.
The rose petals also contain Flavonoids.
Before I use their petals, I want to hold them so dearly, feel their soft velvety petals, get that amazing feeling of having roses on my palms and its sheer beauty, that charms one and all. Roses are forever and I love them.
Now lets start the process to clean them, wash them and then extract thier petals to prepare our #vegan sweet dish.
Wash them gently with mild strokes to remove and dust particles.
Turn them upside down and clean them properly.
Now, extract thier petals and gently hold them to strain excess water.
Our bowl full of petals fo red roses is ready now. Lets get going to make our vegan sweet dish. Semolina and Rose Petal Cakes.
PREPARATION TIME:
Take a pan/wok and pour the said quantity of coconut oil. Keep the flame on low.
Transfer the said quantity of Semolina into the wok and stir...stir...stir ! Keep the flame on medium.
Continue to stir...stir...stir...!
The colour of Semolina will gradually change to roasted light brown.
We have reached the desired level of roasting the semolina.
Now turn the flame to low and add the hot boiled water and sugar into the wok. Increase the flame to medium and Stir...stir...stir...!
The consistency will gradually thicken...
It should neither be too dry nor too watery or like a slurry. It should bind all the material together.
Time to add the rose petals.
Keep stiring slowly and gradually to mix them together.
Grease a plate to which the contents will get transferred.
Transfer the contents and sprinkle some more rose petals.
Gently spread them.
Garnish them with sliced almonds and raisins.
Our Semolina and Rose Petal cakes are ready to be served.
They are so delicious, tasty, healthy and chewy and gooey. They look lovely.

After removing the rose petals, do not throw away the rest part of it in the dustbin. Give it back to the nature.
The Sepals, Receptacle, Stamens, Pistil, Ovules, anther and the filament...a lot is left behind, actually ! If you can really understand. These are in fact all important parts of the Rose Flower, as such.
Back to the nature !!!
