Monomad Challenge - Winter manifests itself II.

A fraternal greeting to all the virtual friends who make life in this community #BlackAndWhite. Today, December 8th, with the cold between the boots, announcing the snowfall of the Christmas season. I bring you some varied monochromes showing the early arrival of the Canadian winter…

Antoine Mountain in Ontario-Canada. 28 °F (ca. -2.22 degree Celsius). Soon to be populated by ski enthusiasts.

Antoine Mountain in Ontario-Canada. 29 °F (ca. -1.67 degree Celsius). Soon to be populated by ski enthusiasts.

Fourteen years ago “in a summer” when I arrived in Canada, I had no idea how cold it was until winter came. That winter was difficult for me, and I can assure you that I spent 90% of the season locked in my room; it was an epic experience.

Hiawatha Highlands, Landslide Rd, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A 5K7, Canada. 30 °F (ca. -1.11 degree Celsius), 1000H. Unedited shot, ƒ/2.8–1/2000s—ISO 100.

As time went by I learned to deal with the four seasons, and today I can assure you that winter in Canada is simply amazing, a masterpiece of nature. And as Christmas arrives, “well” it is also a season full of magic.

33 °F (ca. 0.56 degree Celsius) at 1015 local time, Canada.

You may ask, where is the magic? I only knew snow through films, I never appreciated the candour of winter through a screen. A snow-covered panorama is like being above the clouds. Already the family is getting together to make snowmen, sculpt angels, slide...

Down in the city, the colour of Christmas is everywhere. People walking around doing their shopping or just enjoying a good cocoa and watching the play of lights along with the Christmas themes.

Thanks to @monochromes for such a fabulous growing initiative. Blessings to all.

I never learned how to deal with the Winter. I doubt I ever will. The only good thing about going outside is you feel warmer once you back inside.

Enjoy the season.
