In Toronto, as across Canada and in many countries in the Northern Hemisphere, we find ourselves enjoying fall 2023. But it is mid-November and the cold weather heralds the arrival of winter and Christmas.

During this season, typical Christmas sweets are consumed, such as candy canes, gingerbread biscuits, chocolate truffles and other traditional desserts.

In winter, red wines are usually drunk, more robust and full-bodied, as they are ideal to combat the cold. Popular choices include Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Syrah or Merlot. Spicy wines or wines with dark fruit notes are also popular.

Leaves, wind, cold, rain, warm colours, jacket, scarf, pumpkin, chestnuts, home, nostalgia, melancholy, walks, hot coffee, blankets, sunsets, harvest, tranquillity. That's what autumn leaves us with.

Unfortunately, an image is not the same as living it, one stands still looking through the viewfinder of the camera because what is detailed in colour, with the smell and sounds of nature is indescribable if you have not lived it.
