Monomad 📸 Tile Museum in Kütahya

Last week I was in Kütahya, a city in central Turkey, for work. During my two-day visit, I had the opportunity to visit a few museums and attend a ceramics workshop.

One of the places that impressed me the most was the two-story classic Ottoman house that Mehmet Gürsoy used as a workshop and exhibition space for his works.

Mehmet Gürsoy is one of the most famous figures of tile art in Turkey. He is 75 years old and has been actively involved in tile art since 1975. He has opened hundreds of exhibitions in Turkey and abroad and trained hundreds of apprentices and students. In 2010, he was awarded UNESCO's Treasure of Living People award.

Normally, he loves to chat with everyone who comes to his workshop and explain his works himself, but unfortunately, when we went there, he was at an exhibition opening in Ankara. He was kind enough to make a video call with us and introduce his work, it was a special moment for us :)

I used Sony A7SIII camera with Sony 50mm f/1.8 and Samyang 24mm f/2.8 lenses and edited photos in Adobe Lightroom.
