Through Saint Maurice

Today, I continue my walk from last month in Saint-Maurice, Switzerland, which lies at the gateway to the upper Rhone Valley between a rock face and a river. Home to a famous abbey and castle, Saint-Maurice is a charming village nestled in the heart of the Valais region. The fortification s were constructed between the World Wars. It was very hot, so I could only reach this point before quickly deciding to go back to the city. I am looking forward to the next wekeends, when I will continue my hike to the next destination here.
