A visit to the most popular castle of Switzerland a beer brewery
A nice destination to the brewery tour in 90 minutes at Feldschlösli beer factory, you can learn a lot about the ingredients, brewing process, as well as currently production.
The Feldschlösschen brewery is located in Rheinfelden in the canton of Aargau, one of the largest beverage producers in Switzerland. The factory site has several buildings.
Before the brewer Theophil Roniger founded the Feldschlösschen brewery in Rheinfelden with the farmer Mathias Wüthrich, he traveled the world between 1864 and 1867. When Roniger returned, he brewed his first brew in Rheinfelden in 1876, resulting in the unique Feldschlösschen beer that has now been delighting the taste buds of the Swiss for over 148 years. In the first year of operation, were 3,600 hectoliters produced. Even this time the people was very thirsty. With Wüthrich's money, they buy the old factory property near the new Rheinfelden train station, 365,000 Swiss francs have been invested in the reconstruction, the most modern brewery equipment and material.
The brewer creates a product of the highest quality. The farmer organizes the transport to the brewery and to the customers with his horses. The earnings are continuously invested.
Already after 14 years of foundation, Feldschlösschen is deeply anchored in the people and Feldschlösschen shares are a clever investment.
1912 is the first truck going in operation.
Roniger is very concerned about the careful architectural design of his brewery. From the very beginning, he entrusted the planning of the buildings to specialists. The first plans were drawn up by the architectural firm of Langeloth from Frankfurt later joined by the Zimmermann planning firm from Freiburg, the planning work started about 1906.
Theophil Roniger dies in 1913 and his son Adolf takes on the management of the brewery. He leads the company through two world wars, raw material crises and market collapses.
Feldschlösschen joins 2000 the globally active Carlsberg Group, headquartered in Copenhagen.
