#1224 - Maligcong Rice Terraces Shots for Monday.

Hello dearest Hiveans around the world! Happy Monday to everyone. A brand new week is here, so grab a hot cup of coffee, take a deep breath and get moving. Now for our daily shots one late sunny morning along the narrow concrete paths of the Maligcong rice terraces in Bontoc Mountain Province. We had just finished climbing Mount Kupapey and honestly our legs were feeling tired. The sun was up and shining brightly which made the walk a bit warmer than we expected after the cool mountain breeze up at the top of Kupapey.

We were sweating and our water bottles were empty. The view around us was totally worth every step. We were making our way back to our transient house, carefully navigating our way through the winding paths of the lush rice paddies while trying our best not to slip on the edges.

The rice fields surrounding us were a sight to behold. Most of the stalks had already turned to golden color, riped and ready for the harvest. It was amazing to see the terraces in this stage, we usually see in magazines to this stunning sea of yellow.

As we walked along the path, some of the hardworking local farmers were already out in the fields. They were busy harvesting their part, bundling the cut stalks together. It was a humbling experience to see them locals in action, living their daily lives.

While we were walking, I took out my wife's phone to snap some pictures of the group. My wife and our two friends who joined us on this exhausting hike. They looked so tired but also deeply happy, smiling through the fatigue.

To be completely honest, we were all tired and very hungry from this morning hike. Our stomachs were growling and the thought of a hot, delicious meal and Suzette Transient coffee waiting for us at the transient house was the only thing keeping us moving😅.

We still had about a thirty minute walk ahead of us here before we could sit down, rest our feet and eat a proper meal. It felt like a long time when you are that hungry, the beautiful scenery helped distract us from hunger. More to follow.
