#1206 - Blooming Sunflowers Shots for Sunday.

Hey dearest Hiveans, happy Sunday! I hope you're all having a fantastic and relaxing one so far. Sundays always feel like the ultimate chill stop before the busy Monday. Now for our daily shots with my wife and I after our routine where we jog at the University of the Philippines Diliman Campus oval whenever our schedules allow. We usually hit the Academic Oval early in the morning. One particular day, we finished our usual loop as the morning light was getting brighter. We were both sweaty but feeling great.

Instead of heading straight home and do laundry, we decided to take a slow walk toward the Oblation statue. Right across from the Oblation was a field of blooming sunflowers. If you know UP, you know that sunflowers are a huge deal here during graduation season. The university plants them specifically as a beautiful backdrop for the graduating students to use in their photos. The whole area was just painted in vibrant yellow that wakes you up in a good mood.

My wife and I took turns snapping photos of each other standing next to the tall sunflowers. I was smiling so widely framed by these giant yellow blooms.

We noticed some movement on one of the large flower heads right in front of me and saw a honeybee hard at work, completely ignoring all the humans posing and laughing, just totally focused on gathering food. The bees were covered in yellow pollen dust. There's a bunch of them buzzing around, moving from one sunflower to the next. I spent a good ten minutes just following the bees with the camera, getting some cool shots of them in the flower centers.

We probably spent another twenty minutes just hanging out in the sunflower field, enjoying the happy atmosphere of the campus. By the time we decided to walk back, the sun was fully up and we were still sweaty but we didn't care one bit. It was just a fulfilling way to start that day. Good exercise, beautiful nature and quality time with my wife.. you really can't ask for much more than this.
