Moving now to our daily shots during the trip to Mount Mariglem in Zambales with the sky was still incredibly gloomy. Thick dark clouds were low over the mountains and the air almost threatening to rain at any moment. With my wife, our friend Dandreb, another lady friend and I decided to push through with the hike. We had traveled all the way here and we weren't going to let a cloudy sky stop us.

We met our guide at the jump-off point and started our ascent. I was worried that the trails would be a muddy and slippery because of the heavy rain from the typhoon. Surprisingly, the path was mostly wet but not slippery at all. The terrain of Mount Mariglem is rocky. The rocks provided excellent traction for our shoes so we didn't have to struggle.

Because the trail was in such good condition, the hike was also incredibly easy. We were just walking at a steady pace, enjoying the cool atmosphere of the Zambales mountains. In just about an hour, we were at the peak. We were expecting a grueling climb but we arrived with plenty of energy.

The view from the top wasn't the bright panoramic view because of the weather, the surroundings were filled in mist and dark clouds. It felt mysterious and quiet. We started taking photos. The cloudy background actually gave our pictures a dramatic vibe that you don't get on clear days.

After pictures, we rest on the summit. We found a comfortable spot to sit down on the large rocks as wind blowing gently. Since we had brought some food with us, we made sure to share some portion with our guide. He had done a great job leading us up on the summit. We sat here eating, chatting and laughing unbothered by the gloomy weather.
