#1189 - Ambuklao Dam Shots for Sunday.

Now for our daily shots after our midnight trek to the summit of Mount Pulag with my wife, our group of friends and I decided to leave Kabayan Benguet a bit earlier than the others. We were all physically exhausted. We decided to make a late afternoon stopover at the Ambuklao Dam in Bokod, Benguet on our way to Baguio City. It was the perfect way to slowly transition from the wild mountains back to civilization.

This wasn't my first time seeing the dam. In fact, this was probably our third time dropping by because of the views it offers. But for our friends who had joined the Pulag hike, it was their first time except for Dandreb. Their tired faces lit up when they saw the massive structure and the vast water nestled on the mountains.

Th cold late afternoon breeze off the water was incredibly refreshing. We walked toward the edge of the viewpoint to take in the scenery. The Agno River was behind the massive dam walls. The sheer size of the dam is always humbling. You can really appreciate the engineering it took to build such a structure in the middle of these rugged mountains.

Of course, no visit here is complete without taking photos. It has become a fun little tradition for us. The hidden golden hour light was casting a glow over the entire area. A dog was also here just chilling.

We spent a good 15 to 20 minutes just standing, resting our tired legs and enjoying the quiet view. It was the perfect decompression spot after an intense adventure. Sitting here for the third time, I realized I never get tired of looking at this body of water.
