#1113 - Shots During Our Hike At Mount Tabayoc in Kabayan Benguet for Saturday.

Happy Saturday dearest Hive friends! I hope you are waking up to a beautiful day full of relaxation and joy as the weekend is finally here. May your Saturday be filled with good food, great company and plenty of smiles. Cheers to a fantastic weekend ahead😍.

Now for our daily shots one early morning air which was crisp and cold as we took our first stop on the trail going up the summit of Mount Tabayoc in Kabayan, Benguet. We had already reached what our guide called the first major stop of the climb which is a small clearing just enough that offered a momentary relief from the steep ascent.

From this vantage point, the view was already breathtaking. We, my wife and Dandreb and the lady guide, could see far down into the valley where we had stayed for the night. The tiny village looked like a miniature thing with the small houses and the transient we slept in blending into the surrounding rural landscape. It felt an awe to look down at the place where we had just rested and now appearing so distant and peaceful and beautiful.

We took this opportunity to rest for some time while drinking water, ate protein bars and catching our breath while enjoying in the beauty of the highlands. The silence up here was broken only by the gentle rustle of the wind and our conversations. Then we moved forward with the trail ahead leading into the heart of the mossy forest.

As we trekked the winding path, the forest came alive with different color. Along the path, we encountered several different kinds of tiny mushrooms that pop out from the woods. Some were bright orange, others were delicate green.

They were small and some no bigger than a fingernail but their details were interesting to see. We had to watch our steps carefully to avoid crushing these tiny gems trying to survive.

The mossy forest here was truly enchanting with every tree branch filled in green and brown moss and hanging vines. It felt cool and refreshing which in contrast to the physical tiredness of our ongoing climb. We moved slowly while appreciating the unique flora surrounding us.

Our hike felt like an endless discovery. We were filled with excitement, even though tired, for what comes ahead knowing that the summit was still waiting for us almost near, but for now we were content to enjoy the journey through this ancient woodland. More adventure to follow😉.
