#1088 - Flowers and Critters Shots for Wednesday.

Good morning and a wonderful Wednesday to us all dearest Hiveans across the globe! We've reached the middle of the week which means today is about steady flow going to the weekend. It's a great day to push forward those things you have in mind. Wishing you a positive day. Have a fantastic Wednesday everyone😍.

Moving now to our daily shots one sunny afternoon in Baguio which has a gentle quality near the clearing of Wright Park. We weren't there for the horses which you can rent and ride along the track, we're just there to explore, walk, sightseeing. The air was cool and carried that clean scent of mountain pines.

Across the park is the grand Mansion House which is the official summer residence of the Philippine President. We walked away from the famous long rectangular pool with tilapias at its waters, we went towards the flower beds.

That's where the smaller world opened up right on the clusters of wild tiny yellow daisies which were simple and cheerful. To the honeybees and butterflies, these daisies might have been unimportant. But to a different critters, they were the busiest source of nectars in town.

That's where I saw them blow flies which often dismissed as nuisances. But here they moved from one tiny flower disk to the next for the pollens or sweets maybe. Their metallic blue green bodies shine like jewels.

Then came some hover flies, they looked like tiny harmless bees. I watched one hover perfectly still in mid air for a few seconds before getting to the next nectar source.

I crouched down with camera in hand, to enter their little world with buzz of wings each on a single daisy cluster. The simple act of focusing the lens on them turned these overlooked insects into fascinating beautiful subjects which I love to do after street photography.
