Visiting The First Cat Café In Bangladesh - Capawchino
Precious owners of pet, how are y’all?
After a great travel of the city I have finally came to a place which serves as a pure relaxation for my soul, and I am sure for many others too this place is a place of ease and pleasure. That is, A, Cat Cafe‼️.
The chance to hold a cat is something heavenly for me, the energetic and floofy furballs are amazing to cuddle with.
I was a cat owner until a few years back when it decided to leave by itself so the emptiness is still there.
So, after this place had opened I had to get here. But, like any plan of mine, I needed a small group of enthusiasts for the occasion, in this case, a group of crazy cat loving enthusiasts. Hence, I called for them instantly.
The Plan
At around 4:07 pm I asked one of my friends if she would join me to this amazing cafe. She instantly agreed, so I asked her to call 2 more friends over, she agreed. We were to head out at 5 pm.
I called them, one of them picked it and said he would join us. I quickly went to decide on the proper clothes, I was about to head into a sea of fur.
At 5:15 pm I went out of my home and met them at the location at 5:30 pm. I walked there, felt a bit too hyped for the occasion, and it was close to my home.
This was at the terrace of Mehedi Mart, Bashundhara r/a.
“The Café”
All the liveliness of the place belonged to the corner section, the place where the cats were kept. The “guests” were playing with the cats, holding them in their arms, petting them, etc. The other side of the place was a simple cafe, with a variety of food that was as mouth-watering as it’s price, meaning, it was expensive as hell!
This cafe was made at the top of the building. There were a total of 3 sections in this place. The last part was at the back of the place, no restaurant had booked this place yet. The view was outstanding but unfortunately I couldn’t take a pic as we reached there after dark. The lighting there wasn’t that bright either.
The thing about these cafes is that they need a small fee, they call it “entrance fee”. They charged Tk 200 or $1.89 for an hour’s visit. It is for their food, litter, vaccines, toys, resting places for the cats, medicines, and electricity. My friend and I had calculated their profits just before entering. With just 30 guests they would make a total profit of TK 180k or $1700+ per month. A neat business.
The Cats
Just before entering, we’re were given 2 options on shoes either take them off and enter or wear the shoe cover. We wore, my friend said: “ If I don’t, the cats and the people are gonna run in the other direction,” XD. After entering, we had to sanitise out hands with the hand sanitiser.
Each cat had their own names. These were rescued cats so they were taken care of with the itmost dedication. The staff were very hospitable and friendly.
This was Klaus and Batman. The one with its face in the cam was Batman, they are siblings. I got one of them on my arms! It was Batman. He was the ONLY cat in this place who wasn’t tired of all the attention and care and love, and, he didn’t try to escape the entire time I held him. This was the last cat I held and wanted to hold this one longer but the time was nearing its end.
I asked the manager of this section, “Did the cats came from the same litter,” to which he replied, “No,”. Each one one them, except for Klaus and Batman, were rescued from the streets.
This was Jon Snow, the grey Persian cat.
Believe me when I say that this cat was the most moodiest cat of them all. And, he has the most soft and fluffy fur of them all. He was resting in the corner, probably tired from all the attention from the worthless hoomans, all the futile attempts to cuddle, wasted.
Got it to move back it’s head!
It turned on the other side but I kept at it. I was being careful here, he could bite me and his strength is not a laughing matter.
And he finally was tired of my constant stroke in the same area. He bit softly though, like a warning.
And the annoyed stare, an indication of “I’m done with your shit hooman, leave me be and be on your way, peasant!”
Couldn’t get a good pic of this cat. He was occupied with the other guests as he was in the mood for playing.
This was the ginger cat I loved holding, but it didn’t like being held by me…
It just wanted to sleep in its pillow. It looked cute af frr. The most precious catto I’ve seen in some time.
Another floof decided to sleep on top of the box. I just petted the guy, didn’t wanna disturb its sleep.
This was when I realised that if we were to visit this place, we had to had to come by evening, when they would be energetic and would accept the pets more readily. It was around 5:50 ish. Also, this cat also had that medicine on it’s nose. It’s fur was disappearing there so they applied it on him too.
This was one of those rare cats who had different coloured eyes. I couldn’t get their pic as it was also sleeping and didn’t want to force it.
There was this small wooden hut that seemed normal… but wait. Would there be something inside it???
Yessss, inside was a non-paying tenant. A floofy, furry, scared creature. It didn’t come out at all, my friend tried to reach it. He got smacked by its paws, it still wasn’t acclimated with us, people.
Then comes this floof ball, turns into a load as soon as it got tired of all the running.
He had been given medicine in its ears and sadly, when I lifted and put it on my lap, some of the white stuff got on my pants.
At the end of the day, both of them were tired from the pets and turned into a roll. One of them was already napping, the ginger cat decided to join it’s kind.
