Yes i think it is, kind of - although "simulation" is more like an analogy than ultimate truth, as is "dream/movie/play of life. Words can only point the way toward ultimate truth though, which can never be understood by the mind as the mind is part of duality (the dream). Ultimate truth can only be experientially known by "zooming out" of mind.

I think a notable distinction should be made between the fabricated reality of the slave system, and the nature of this type of world at its basic level. They are not the same. It's funny that they used the word 'matrix' for the illusionary slave world, because matrix means mother. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
