Knowing the state where I am living, Anzoátegui - Venezuela, I had the opportunity to visit a very picturesque fishing village, where the inhabitants of the village, after their fishing work, sell a variety of fish. There I met the birds that will be the protagonists of this post: Pelicans.

Conociendo el Estado donde estoy viviendo, Anzoátegui - Venezuela, tuve la oportunidad de visitar un pueblito muy pintoresco de pescadores, donde los habitantes del pueblo, luego de su faena de pesca, ponen a la venta pescados variados. Allí me encontré a los pájaros que serán los protagonistas de este post: Pelícanos.
Geographical location
The village in question is called Volcadero. It is located on the east coast of the bay of Guanta in the state of Anzoátegui, Venezuela.
I arrived there from a boat, in which we were touring the different islands in the area.
We stopped in the village and made a short tour. We talked to the fishermen, who showed us their fishing and offered us their products.
The life of a fisherman is one of constant dedication and perseverance. Every day, they get up early before the sun rises over the horizon, prepare to set sail in their boats and head out to sea in search of the day's catch, which will allow them to provide for their families. It is hard and laborious work, and I was delighted to learn about the experience of these simple people who work from dawn to dusk.

El pueblito en cuestión se llama Volcadero. Este se encuentra ubicado en la franja costera este de la bahía de Guanta en el Estado Anzoátegui- Venezuela.
Llegué allí desde una lancha, en la cual estábamos recorriendo las diferentes islas de la zona.
Nos detuvimos en el pueblo e hicimos un breve recorrido. Hablamos con los pescadores, quienes nos mostraron su pesca y ofrecieron sus productos.
La vida de un pescador es una de constante dedicación y perseverancia. Cada día, se levantan temprano antes de que el sol asome en el horizonte, se preparan para zarpar en sus embarcaciones y se adentran en el mar en busca de la captura del día, que le permitirá lograr el sustento para sus familias. Es un trabajo arduo y laborioso, me encantó conocer la experiencia de esta gente sencilla que trabaja de sol a sol.

During my walk, and chatting with the fishermen, we saw these colourful birds, which come to the fish selling area to receive food in the process of cleaning the fish.
The fishermen throw them the viscera and heads of fish to be sold and they gladly receive them.
With their long beaks and large size I found them frightening and unfriendly, because when I approached to take their pictures, two of them assumed a defiant attitude, so as a precaution, I took the picture and walked away.

Durante mi paseo, y conversando con los pescadores vimos a estos pájaros tan pintorescos, que se acercan al área de venta de pescados para recibir alimentos en el proceso de limpieza de los pescados.
Los pescadores les lanzan vísceras y cabezas de pescados que se venderán y ellos los reciben con mucho gusto.
Con su largo pico y su gran tamaño me resultaron atemorizantes y poco amigables, porque cuando me acerqué a tomarles las fotos, dos de ellos asumieron una actitud desafiante, así que por precaución, tomé la foto y me alejé.
During the whole walk through the village I observed them, they are very funny, restless, they always walk in groups, they go all over the village, and they go from stall to stall selling fish.....
Their physiognomy is curious, their colours are warm. I was delighted to see them up close and observe their routine during their stay in the place.
It is also interesting to see how they dive into the water to catch the nearest fish. They are all fishermen themselves. Despite their large size they have incredible agility. And to rest I saw that they do it on the same boats as the fishermen! They are quite a spectacle!

Durante todo el paseo por el pueblo los observé, son bien graciosos, inquietos, siempre andan en grupos, recorren todo el pueblo, y van de puesto en puesto de venta del pescado....
Su fisonomía es curiosa, sus colores cálidos. Me encantó verlos de cerca y observar su rutina en su estadía por el lugar.
Interesante también observar cómo se lanzan sobre el agua para pescar a los peces mas cercanos. Son ellos mismos todos unos pescadores. A pesar de su gran tamaño tienen una agilidad increible. Y para descansar vi que lo hacen sobre las mismas embarcaciones de los pescadores!!! Son todo un espectáculo!

During the walk we enjoyed lunch in front of the sea with delicious preparations of fresh fish.... the most exquisite!
Thank you for inviting us to participate in the challenge. I enjoyed it. I was choosing between my photos of a roadrunner, some macaws, some vultures and pelicans... And the photos of the pelicans won! hahaha
