Hoy estoy con ustedes para contarles sobre una hermosa población del Estado Sucre, que se caracteriza porque la principal actividad es la pesca, se trata del Morro de Puerto Santo, ubicado en el Municipio Arismendi y se puede llegar por la carretera Carúpano - Río Caribe. Se trata de una zona pesquera, donde se puede disfrutar del mar, y también de la pesca.

Este hermoso lugar forma parte de la zona costera del Estado Sucre, en el Morro de Puerto Santo viven muchas familias y la mayoría de las viviendas se encuentran apostadas alrededor del mar, porque pueden amanecer con el sonido de las olas del mar y despertar viendo el Sol renacer cada mañana. Los niños desde que nacen aprenden a nada y no le tienen miedo al mar ni a tomar con la mano el pescado.

En el morro se puede disfrutar del mar de manera recreacional y tener ese momento que necesitamos para estar en contacto con la naturaleza, al caminar por la arena, mojarnos con el mar y escuchar las olas del mar. Me encanto como los niños disfrutar a plenitud de la playa mientras ven a sus padres al momento de la pesca.

Existen muchas familias en el morro que poseen botes y lanchas de pesca, porque el principal objetivo es el comercio del pescado. Se puede decir que es la principal actividad económica de esta población. Porque cualquier puede pescar y llevar a vender en los mercados más cercanos o inclusive transportar en cavas hasta otras ciudades u estados del país.

Esta experiencia que les comparto se trata de este momento en que la población se avoca como una gran familia a la pesca de la sardina, para ello extienden grandes redes de pesca que imagino dejan desde ciertas horas de la mañana y luego en la tarde regresan todos a tirar de la red para obtener la pesca esperada. Nunca había presenciado una pesca como esta, donde un gran número de personas participan y tienen mucha familiaridad con el mar.

This experience that I share with you is about this moment in which the population is engaged as a big family in the sardine fishing, for this they extend large fishing nets that I imagine they leave from certain hours of the morning and then in the afternoon they all return to pull the net to get the expected catch. I had never witnessed a fishing like this, where a large number of people participate and are very familiar with the sea.

Cuando llega a la orilla esa red con el pescado todos se detienen a ver, y los responsables de tomar el pescado empiezan la recolección, yo no diría que había responsables, sino que todos tomaron pescado en recipientes, desde niños, mujeres y hombres. Yo me acerqué a tomar estas fotos y estaba realmente fascinada con esta experiencia.

Este día la pesca fue de sardina, un pescado que se vende económico, pero en venta en grandes cantidades a las industrias que enlatan sardinas les resulta favorable a estos pobladores vender. Había aquí niños y niñas trabajando, porque son de bajo recursos y les toca, irá a la playa a recolectar pescados para luego salir a venderlos. Me conmueve ver a los niños trabajar, pero también tengo el consuelo de que están aquí disfrutando del mar y eso les hace ser niños fuertes y resistentes.

There were boys and girls working here, because they are poor and they have to go to the beach to collect fish and then go out to sell them.
