Summer in Colorado is Amazing!
I Thought Colorado Was a Desert...
I had always wanted to live in the western portion of the United States, but I had this idea in my mind that it was just going to be a vast, empty desert. I had the idea that I would be seeing a lot of sand, dust, tumbleweeds, and maybe a few cacti.
I moved to Colorado in November and it pretty much confirmed my suspicions. When I got here in November, it was cold, snowy, and all the vegetation was mostly dead. I used to look up at the rocky mountains and see nothing but a red, rocky color that was covered in snow. At this point, I was pretty much convinced that Colorado was the desert that I had expected.
But I Was Wrong
As spring slowly started to creep in and the weather got warmer something surprising happened. Colorado started to get rain, and, much to my surprise, vegetation started popping up everywhere. Now that it summer is in full swing, I'm completely blown away by the natural beauty I see every time I step outside. Of course, there are some beautiful flowers, but even the common terrain features, like mountains, look so beautiful when covered with lush green grass with a vibrant blue sky in the background.
Summary
I've always loved flowers and plants, but I never thought I'd find so much natural beauty in Colorado. Colorado has definitely proved me wrong, and the pictures I've shared here are just a few examples of why my state is nicknamed "Colorful Colorado." Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post. I hope you have a simply phenomenal day!
