My short working day at the coffee shop
We all have a place of power that keeps us going during work hours. For me, it's Simple Coffee. It's where I feel completely focused and inspired.
And this morning was no exception. The coffee shop was busy that day. When I approached the counter, I ran into a familiar barista, Anna. She had already anticipated my order.
"Is Assam tea here?" she asked, and I said, "Yes, of course."
For me, Assam tea is an indispensable companion. While I was sitting near the window, where I could watch the leisurely street life, they had already brought me loose-leaf tea, as I don't like bags. Here they brew it properly, from loose-leaf tea. When I took my first sip, the tea was rich and recharged. It not only warmed me, but also put me in a working mood and sent a clear signal to my brain: "It's time. You can do anything."
Then I take out my laptop and plug it in. For this, I can thank the coffee shop for providing outlets at every table—a small thing, but immensely appreciated. I open my task tracker. My daily plan is, as always, ambitious. At home, I'm usually distracted by the chaos of everyday life. But here, it's just me, my tasks, and my tea.
When I complete each item on my plan, I usually like to celebrate with a sip of Assam. At some point, you tear yourself away from the screen and look out the window at the passersby, and you begin to feel a sense of harmony. I begin to feel like I'm part of the city's rhythm, but at the same time, I'm in my own cozy place, where everything is under my control.
After an hour and a half, my cup is starting to empty, and so is my task list. My sense of accomplishment mingles with satisfaction. But for me, a coffee shop isn't just a spot on the map where they sell tea and coffee. It's my external office and my personal concentration zone. For me, a cup of Assam tea wasn't just a drink, but fuel for my accomplishments, making my freelancing meaningful and productive.
That's the highlight of my day I wanted to share with you today.
