What the Snow Conceals
(Edited)
Winter strolls in nature often reveal what autumn left behind. The snow cover hides much, but doesn't erase everything — and you inevitably notice traces of the season that has passed. A yellow leaf, a frosted branch, a pinecone…
Yellow and green stand out most. Against the white they don't fade; they remain vivid: last year's leaves, wheat stalks, even pine needles — all keep their colour. The snow dusted them lightly, but didn't take them away. It left them until spring.
I rarely use filters when editing my photos, but for this series I worked with cool light to convey the feeling of frosty air in the frame. Hope you enjoy it.
