It's Beach Time
(Edited)
Today I felt like digging through my archive of beach photos — and, honestly, I found surprisingly few of them. Traveling around Europe, you always seem to end up at the sea. But what is there to shoot besides standard landscapes and sunsets?
Still, I want to share some shots of beach life in Montenegro — the weather outside is hinting more insistently: summer is coming (at least in the Northern Hemisphere).

My wife and I aren't fans of lying on sun loungers seal-style: with a book in hand and an even tan down to redness. If we do stop at a beach, it's for an hour or two max: a couple of swims, a bit of sun — and back on the road.

The main requirement — the beach must be pebbly. As a rule, in this case, the water near the shore is transparent and clean, even if there are crowds of tourists around. And if the pebbles are small, smooth and pleasant to look at — that's a double bonus altogether.

We also love swims out to the buoys and light snorkeling. When it comes to water temperature, our approaches differ: my wife is picky, and I am generally indifferent. My criterion is simple: if my teeth aren't chattering — then everything is fine.

Also, I love taking photos of the water surface — I'm fascinated by this constantly changing relief, distorted reflections and the play of light. And pebbles, of course — I'm a fan of all kinds of textures and patterns, you know.

While I, with my high art and camera, try to catch the perfect shot, my wife throws pebbles into the water. They say this is one of the most ancient rituals of humanity. Probably there is some deep meaning in this, but it seems to me she is just making wishes. Actually, she loves this thing — making wishes and waiting for them to happen (and controlling the one who makes them come true).
That's how we spend our beach time. How about you?

Thank you for stopping by!
