Coastal Heights
(Edited)
I love towns tucked away in forests right at the foot of the mountains. Especially when you find a spot where all that beauty fits into a single panoramic frame — just like in the first photo.

This is Potamia — a quiet town on the Greek island of Thasos. It sits cozily in the foothills of Mount Ipsario, gradually cascading down toward the sea and gently blending into its neighbor, Chrisi Akti.

That one is a completely different story — a typical resort with a lively beach and all the usual trappings of a holiday destination.

But the real magic begins when you decide to climb the mountain — to reach the summit, stand at the edge of the cliff, and look out at the world from above.

From that height, the familiar view transforms beyond recognition: houses turn into tiny toys, the forest becomes a seamless green carpet, and the coastline stretches into a thin turquoise ribbon.

All the resort hustle and bustle below simply fades away.

Sometimes, to truly see the world, all you need is a change of perspective.
