Editing with Snapseed

Snapseed is an app I used to use a lot a couple of years ago, but one day I realized I wasn't using it anymore and uninstalled it. However, yesterday I took a picture of my son’s face to send it to his grandfather and show him a small rash that had appeared on his cheeks, and I realized that his little eye looked so cute—a photo taken practically for another purpose that I ended up finding super sweet. I needed to edit that image; my idea was to highlight the beautiful color of his eyes.

So I remembered that app I used to use all the time, since my husband was working on the computer and I couldn’t use it today. I downloaded Snapseed again and at first used GEMINI to edit the photo, but GEMINI is pretty basic and limited. I asked it to give me a professional, aesthetic result, but it only adjusted the contrast and brightness very subtly—I couldn’t see any difference, and I was disappointed.

So I decided to tweak it my way—my way is to keep adjusting everything until I’m happy with it. I experiment with turning things up and down in each setting, moving the color curves around, and so on, haha. I also cropped the photo a little for better framing (in my opinion). My main goal was to highlight her eyes, and I think I managed that pretty well, by the way… I’m so jealous of those thick, long lashes, haha—I love her little eyes.
