Monomad - Scirpophaga innotata (Moth) & Planthoppers (Derbidae)
This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge
On today's post, I have again prepared two interesting insect species, one of which is a white moth. This moth is very well known among farmers, especially those who cultivate rice. The moth with the scientific name Scirpophaga innotata is well known among rice farmers because it is one of the moths that is a major pest for rice plants.
Adult moths lay their eggs on the tips of rice leaves & after a few days the eggs hatch into larvae and the larvae of these moths then enter the inside of the rice plant causing the rice shoots to break off because they have been eaten by the larvae.
Besides moths, I also found an insect that looked like a mosquito with a unique color pattern. And after I investigated, it turned out that the insect was part of the leafhopper in the Derbidae family.

Holy heavens, this made me want to grab my macro lens and go out looking for moths, what a photo!
