MacroPhotography - Oxyopes salticus spider (male & female)

There are countless spider species spread across the world, including my hometown of Aceh, Indonesia. While I've photographed some of them, many others remain undiscovered due to their wild nature. A few days ago while I was hunting for insects in the bushes at the same time I also saw a bush spider & I decided to take a picture of it. It's not an easy job to photograph spiders because basically all spiders are very wild & small in size, it's quite difficult to tame them.

But I didn't give up so easily, after several attempts I managed to lock the focus point on a spider that was detected to have the scientific name Oxyopes salticus. Just like other spiders, Oxyopes salticus is also a predator species that is adept at catching its prey, even though this spider can produce silk (webs) but chooses not to use it to make traps. This is a strong indicator that spiders in the Oxyopes genus are very skilled at preying.

Just like other animals, spiders also live in pairs. And you can see that some of the photos of Oxyopes salticus spiders above are female spiders & some of the photos of spiders below are male. The difference between the two is not that significant, but the front legs of the male spider are certainly very different from those of the female. Male Oxyopes salticus spiders have crab-like legs, while females don't. That's the physical difference between the two. :)
