This is my contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkaw

A few days ago I went to my parents' areca nut plantation area, some of the areca nut trees which were no longer productive were cut down about a year ago and now only dead areca nut stems are left, some of which have been overgrown with moss.

If it wasn't summer like now, I should be able to find several types of mushrooms in this plantation area. But now there is only Ganoderma applanatum growing between the grass and moss on the dead areca nut. Nevertheless, it was enough to quench my thirst for mushrooms. Because on the other hand I have to adjust between desire and reality. It's summer and Ganoderma is certainly a gemstone :)

Still on the same day, but in a different location, namely on the edge of a small river, I found piles of the Stemonitis splendens fungus growing on weathered wood. This is not coincidental because the weathered wood there is often in a wet condition which allows the growth of fungus.

Because the weathered wood was quite large and some of it was stuck in the ground, I would have difficulty lifting it. Finally I took a pile of mushrooms and put it in my hand. And these tiny, hair-like mushrooms are a species of slime mold from the Stemonitidaceae family. Here are some photos:
