Exploring Israel - Roundabout Art

This statue is located in Kiryat Ono on a very large roundabout.

The statue is made from bent metal square pipes and it is very big, 10m in hight. The size fits well with one of the biggest roundabouts I have seen

It it is a hollow metal ball, about 2m in diameter with a cutouts of many birds and the ground beneath them.

This sculpture is located in Holon

It is made from colorful twisted metal tubing, about 2m in height.

Coming from the right angle the clear form of a sitting cat is emerging

The statue is made from different types of medals and is about 3m in height. There is a plaque that reads: "The bird" sculptured by Shimon Abisher

Hello and welcome to the "Exploring Israel" series. I enjoy exploring my country by photowalking and photocycling¹

Today I want to share photos of roundabout art I found during my travels in Israel.
RoundAbout art is of special interest to me because it is often ignored and unseen. It is too far for pedestrians and difficult to appreciate from a moving vehicle.

Most of the art is unnamed and open for interpretation.

I am greatfull for the country that invest in a roundabout art. It brings otherwise mundane roads to life and gives a welcomed pause from daily life to contemplate the meaning of the art.
