Handicraft exhibition and Venezuelan National Cocoa Day [Esp/Eng]

Hola, ¿qué tal chicos?, hoy les voy a contar acerca de mi participación en la celebración del Día Nacional del Cacao Venezolano, el cual fue el 1º de octubre pasado. Allí se destacó la presentación de los artesanos cacaoteros Pedraceños, así como también se realizó una exposición artesanal, gastronómica y musical donde las diferentes personas reconocidas de este municipio, Pedraza de Barinas/Venezuela, mostraron sus talentos.
Hello, how are you all doing? Today I am going to tell you about my participation in the celebration of Venezuelan National Cocoa Day, which was on October 1st. The event featured a presentation by the Pedraceños cocoa artisans, as well as an exhibition of crafts, cuisine, and music where various well-known figures from the municipality of Pedraza de Barinas, Venezuela, showcased their talents.
Esta invitación la teníamos pautada desde hace aproximadamente un mes; por mi parte, como ustedes saben, yo me dedico a la creación de joyería artesanal, todo tipo de pulseras, anillos, collares, totalmente hechos a mano. Mi padre es un reconocido artesano de madera, ebanista y tallista venezolano. Aquí en el municipio de Pedraza estado Barinas/Venezuela es reconocido como patrimonio viviente, esto debido a su larga trayectoria como maestro del arte.
We had this invitation scheduled for about a month ago. As you know, I am dedicated to creating handmade jewelry, all kinds of bracelets, rings, and necklaces, all of which are completely handmade. My father is a renowned Venezuelan wood craftsman, cabinetmaker, and carver. Here in the municipality of Pedraza, Barinas state, Venezuela, he is recognized as a living heritage due to his long career as a master of the art.
Como van a ver en las fotos, tuvimos una mañana muy amena escuchando la música que representa nuestro folklor, la cual es la música “llanera”, así como también, vimos obras de otros representantes de nuestra cultura, con los cuales pudimos compartir anécdotas, intercambiar números, además pudimos realizar ventas de nuestras piezas artesanales, de todo un poco, en realidad.
As you can see in the photos, we had a very enjoyable morning listening to music that represents our folklore, which is “llanera” music. We also saw works by other representatives of our culture, with whom we were able to share anecdotes and exchange numbers. We were also able to sell our handicrafts—a little bit of everything, really.
Una persona para destacar, es el señor Olinto Castillo reconocido artesano juguetero Merideño residenciado en este pueblo desde hace años, quien siempre nos sorprende con sus obras, dentro de ellas destacan el caleidoscopio y juegos tradicionales, así como también otros inventados con su intelecto.
One person worth mentioning is Mr. Olinto Castillo, a renowned toy craftsman from Mérida who has lived in this town for years. He always surprises us with his creations, including kaleidoscopes and traditional games, as well as others invented with his intellect.

Por ejemplo, mi madre se dedica a la creación de plantas ornamentales, especialmente cactus y suculentas, y también tuvo la oportunidad de vender allí.
For example, my mother creates ornamental plants, especially cacti and succulents, and she also had the opportunity to sell them there.

El arte es una manera de poder expresarte libremente con lo que sientes y poder mostrar al mundo aquello que está en ti. Espero que no se desvanezca en el tiempo…
Art is a way to freely express what you feel and show the world what is inside you. I hope it doesn't fade away with time...
