Macro Photography Session | Old Mussel Shell

COVER.jpg

Hello everyone :)

In this session that i share today, i explored with the lens the details of an old mussel shell that was stored in the same jar from which i removed the plant used in the last article.
Time and natural elements have transformed this piece into a natural work of art. Each image reveals the story etched in the curved lines and intricate textures, silent witnesses to a life lived beneath the tides.
Unlike those that we found clinging to the rocks washed by the sea waves, i remember that this one was already lost in the middle of the sand among many other shells and loose pieces brought by the tides.
The images transport us to a mysterious setting, with fine and delicate grooves, like wrinkles of time that reveal the initial stages of its formation and a journey that began in the depths of the ocean.
Highlights include color changes and the fading of the shell's original tones, revealing the patina of colors faded by climate change, seasonal variations and the influence of the surrounding environment.

Before moving onto the result...

My introductory thoughts about macro photography:

It's amazing how macros with their blurred background can result in such different images full of contrasts and textures especially with this kind of subjects.
In the world of photography, especially macro photography, there is a universe of things available to everyone, enabling totally different and original approaches.

Among the various possible techniques to shoot macros, this is perhaps the most affordable and effective technique for those who have a camera with removable lens.
We can simply remove the lens and reverse the direction, and by using an inverter ring it ends up being more comfortable and facilitates the process.

Let's now move onto the result:
