A pleasant walk through Talasnal - Lousã | Portugal

Hello everybody :)

I don't know what the weather is like in your country or city, but here in Portugal there have been weeks of rain and storms. As such, as much as we love visiting new cities, it hasn't been at all possible.
Our girl really likes looking at photos and we ended up coming across photos of the village of Talasnal, known as the "magical" village. Talasnal has a charm and magic that even in photographs it is not possible to convey in its entirety. It is located in the heart of the Lousã mountains and if you can, I highly recommend visiting it. There are 12 villages and we haven't visited them all yet, but for now it remains by far our favorite. All the houses are preserved and many are being restored for tourism or are second homes, as despite having many visitors this village has no permanent inhabitants.

But it wasn't always like that. Those who work here say that more than 100 people lived here, but the village was gradually abandoned until in 1981 there were only 2 inhabitants.
Ti Manel and Ti Lena are remembered with affection today.
Those who lived here worked in pastoralism but subsistence was very difficult and when they imposed the cultivation of pine trees, there was no longer any pasture for livestock, which is why they all ended up leaving.

When we arrived we found a small square where there is a tavern and a souvenir shop with typical local products and a stunning view of the mountains. We close our eyes, absorb the fresh air, listen to the birds and catch our breath for the walk ahead.
The fountain and the tank attract the attention of passers-by and if it's summer, adults and adults take the opportunity to cool off.

The streets are all parallel and the houses are decorated with flowers.
As we go down we find little taverns for those who need to rest, but one of the things that aroused our curiosity was a small grocery store. It looked very picturesque, it emanated a smell of spices, freshly baked cookies and a very friendly lady at the door greeted everyone who passed by. We continued going down until we reached the bottom of the village and sat enjoying the view.

I love taking these walks (the worst part was the climb but we were trying not to think about that part) and contemplating the best that this world has to offer.
Some of the records that I bring you here today had already been shared in the Black and White category, however, I believe that in color you can perhaps perceive the charm that I told you about at the beginning.

I hope we return with the possibility of taking one of the trails that stretch through the mountains and that take us to the Castle, passing through some of these Schist villages.
That's all for today, I hope you liked it.

Always remember:

Value your time, because every fraction counts, and the price of anything is the amount of life you trade for it.
May the memories of the travels be eternalized in the photographs, and may the photographs transport us back to the travels ;)

Today, the way marble and tiles of very beautiful designs are also made, they make all these buildings more beautiful, which are really more beautiful and people visit here. Seeing their scenic views gives me so much joy and so much peace that I myself am very happy to visit such a place.
