Sunny Day and Snowy Night | Street Photography

Hello, photography lovers! We had our first snow this week and for good or for bad it didn't stay long. I absolutely love photographing on a snowy day but plashing on wet, muddy puddles from melting snow is not my favorite activity. It's the most beautiful thing while falling and an unwanted guest when it overstays it welcome. I mean unless you are somewhere on the mountains, skiing down the slopes.

First part of the post, I was capturing some interesting people on the streets of Belgrade, with their fashionable clothes and interesting gestures. Ever since the beginnings of street photography people with hats have always been a popular subject to shoot.

When you look at the feed of most popular street photographs you would get the impression that half of people on the streets wear hats and long overcoats. :D But in reality it's not such a common thing so when we photographers see someone with such unique clothing detail it's an automatic response to grab a photo. Sometimes it's just a simple snapshot. But it usually helps to make the image more intriguing. In a way it takes us back to beautiful, old times when this look was common.

Yesterday the rain turned into snow. I went downtown for a photo walk but by then it already stopped (the downside of living outside the city center). Too bad. I also prefer photographing during the day when it's snowing, at night some of that white magic is dimmed and altered, although it's a nice sight to see a swarm of snowflakes falling in front of the street light.

I am considering switching back to 23mm lens (35mm equivalent). Current 50mm equivalent I'm using is nice for separating the subjects from the background but I sometimes find myself too close and not having room to include more into the composition. Camera used Fuji X-Pro2.

Enjoyed the lighting, reflections, old sites all coming into play with people, tastefully photographed without revealing them, clever composition.

Why doesn't the photo of the man holding the cellphone show his hand??
I like your picture.

It's because of the reflection - by shooting through the window at the right angle, half of the subject is invisible due to the glass reflection. :) Thanks!

I love how amazing this is. The elegance of the snowflakes. The sense of gracefulness everyone seems to possess with their tastefully work costs and cardigans, it's extremely sublime. Seeing beauty like this and there's no way you wouldn't want to go into photography. To capture these brilliant moments.

Nicely said! There's so much beauty in the world - having some sort of artistic practice, photography, painting, music, writing... it's good for an individual to express themselves.

I really liked the photos with glass interiors. It turns out fantastically. And the moments with umbrellas are also very successful.

I caught myself debating which outfit I like better, the one with the beret or the cream hat. I think the latter though, I dunno if berets would look as good on me.
I'd ask how you did that illusion thing with the men walking but, I know, it requires a lot of skill. It's so cool, I went 😃.

Kudos!

Both are an interesting clothing addition. :D
Not sure which of the two men you mean, but in both cases the effect is achieved by shooting through the window with careful composition. The reflection gives this "double exposure" look. :)
