Morning Walk and Tai Chi in the Kalemegdan Park

20231011-DSCF4743.jpg

It's been a while since I've wandered properly around the Kalemegdan fortress. With autumn here, what better way to spend the morning than walking and training at this beautiful forest oasis. The park around the fortress is huge and has a lot of natural greenery. Now, half of the trees is green, the other half is orange which gives it an interesting look.

This time I wanted to do a proper Kung Fu training and so I looked for a more isolated spot. The area below the fortress that spreads towards the two rivers, Danube and Sava, is beautiful and vast. It's mainly flat and suitable for running, dog-walking and other activities. At 7 in the morning it's still pretty desolate so I'm able to train pretty much unbothered, although few people have approached me and asked about my Tai Chi practice. You guys seemed to like the previous gif I shared so I included a new one here. :)

You can see in one of the photos huge new building being built behind the church and near the river, thus ruining the view of the area. It's a shame the non-inspired, dull modernism is slowly destroying beautiful, ancient places. You'd think new knowledge and creative pursuits would help create a world more magical - but au contraire - we regressed to a point where everything looks like each other, just square blocks of bricks and glass. Call me a conspiracy theorist but I believe that's on purpose.

Anyways, as you could have guessed based on previous experiences, the dogs are the main stars of the show this early in the morning. I just love that people are eager to wake up in the morning and go for a walk with their best friend. They are chasing around the trees and watching the squirrels and birds.

Morning dew is covering the grass and my shoes are all wet after the training but it was worth it. A little bit of morning fog would have made the atmosphere more surreal but maybe next time. I hope you enjoy these early autumn scenes from Belgrade. :) Photos taken with Fuji X-Pro2 and 35mm F/2 lens.

Beautiful views... the autumn colour is truly magical. Oh, a tennis court, I loved it.
And really those buildings have nothing to do there. Looks like it's a macabre plan, yes. I'm a conspirator too.

Always learning from the master!

Thank you very much! The most beautiful season is upon us, although one has to learn to let things go, just like nature, in order to appreciate it. :)

Thank you very much! Yes that's me. I have started practicing Tai Chi (Wudang style) together with Qigong and Kung Fu a year ago and fell in love with it immediately! Such beautiful practice for mind, body and soul. I have a bunch of recordings of my trainings, but haven't got to post any of them here yet...
Glad you are enjoying it as well, keep it up! :)
