Morning Haze and Wishing for Foggy Days | Street Photography

Hello, there! :) I come to you with a new batch of photographs that I've captured two days ago. The city was covered in a morning haze, you couldn't see in the distance as if there was a fog but it was likely just a pollution from the factories.

When overlooking the panorama from the Kalemegdan fortress you can barely see the bridges and other side of the city - it's like they are shrouded in a white veil of mystery. In closed spaces you can't notice it that much, it's a funny effect. Shooting in the mist is my favorite thing to do - the way it unifies the background, turns it into white and allows everything in front to beautifully stand alone and accentuated.

I feel bad for wishing for foggy days - it usually means the air quality is abysmal (you can see in a few photos of the horizon a thick layer of dark air hovering above the town). :D But the photos I create from few such days are enough to make the year successful. So yeah, even this gentle haze that I couldn't really use to full advantage makes me excited to walk around and create stuff.

The itinerary was usual this time, Knez Mihailova street all the way to the Kalemegdan park. You an see how low morning sun creates contrast of shadows or lets the subjects completely wash in the beautiful light. It makes the yellow and blue colors dominate the scenes. I've crossed paths with few people that I see sometimes on my walks. Even though it's a huge city, same habits and routes bring us together (recognize the lady with here dogs? :) ). Photos taken with Fuji X-Pro2 + 35mm F/2 lens.
