How Street Photography Perfectly Suits My Character + A Photowalk

20231218-DSCF6376.jpg

Welcome back, everyone! Here I have a new batch of photos from the recent two days of "working". Even though it started as strictly an amateur hobby activity I do consider photography as a work thing at this point (even though I do other stuff besides it) and try to schedule regular outings with a camera. I don't photograph big events like weddings, it will never be my thing. The only exception is when dear friends ask me.

As an introvert who prefers spending time alone or with a group of super-close friends, at a big social event I'm like a fish out of the water. And what's even more important, I prefer photographing on my own terms - which means, photographing things I like, the way I like without someone else telling me what to do. Obviously, I'm just quirky and very specific and stubborn when it comes to this. I don't have ordinary people skills.

Street photography aligned perfectly with my vision of ideal activity. Because, you see, even though I hate social events more than anything, I actually enjoy meandering through the streets surrounded by people. I guess the fact that I can just walk around and don't have to interact with anybody makes it a non-issue. It's like being in the eye of the tornado, calm in the center of the storm.

It's my duty to take it seriously - it can't just be the thing I do once in a while when time and space opens up. I'm too involved and it became part of me. That's why I avoid taking full time jobs and stick to part time work that I can do from any place, so that I can move around freely and photograph. The only thing I enjoy more than street photography is travelling street photography. :) Getting to practice it in different cities and places is a dream come true for me. That will be the main focus in 2024. Of course, priorities change and interests change but having some form of artistic expression will likely stay. Photos taken with Fuji X-Pro2 + 35mm F/2 lens over the last couple of days.

I liked your images with respect to what you say in some points I feel identified, although at this time I also do social photography, weddings and others, I like more street photography and also the more purely documentary photography with a more studied and established project. Greetings, I hope you are well.

Thanks! I understand, you like having control and putting more thought into the project. It's helpful that you can also work events which helps pay the bills, while also using photography in a more personal creative way.

Exactly, what's really important too is to have a balance between the photography we do to pay bills and the photography we do more for love. Happy day.

I think the Ladies' fashion is something I look forward to a lot in your photos. It's such a delight to see them dressing rather Beautifully. It's a necessary dressing, I know. But it's still so delightful.

Haha it's understandable! Ladies in Belgrade are very stylish, much more than the men I must admit and so I prefer photographing them. :) I did notice my followers prefer the lady shots as well. :D

Wow your passion in photography is inspiring. I've never tried street photography myself, but seeing your blog makes me curious to give it a shot someday. I'll like the introvert aspect like capturing moments without being the center of attention.

Street photography is both the easiest and hardest type of photography to try. You don't need anything particular to start, but it's so unpredictable and a lot of times out of our control. But it's fun, you can give it a shot. :)

I love every detail of each photograph. The shadows in some of them were my favorite. 👌

You are talented and I think that street photography is difficult as light and people moving are constantly changing. The picture with the teddies has a certain charm to it. You capture the light very well!

I'm learning to recognize the small details (like teddies) and appreciate the beauty in them, not just chase the obvious big shots. The story is more complete when different things and perspectives are captured. Thank you very much! :)
