Before the Dawn, Until the Morning Takes Us | Street Photography

I hope everyone is having a beautiful day and is in the mood for another street photography post! If you didn't recognize from the title and want to follow along with some appropriate music, here is this beautiful ballad by Judas Priest. I woke up at 4am unable to sleep further and so I decided to not waste any time and go out immediately.

It was a good one hour of roaming the city in complete dark, rarely anyone on the streets, only empty buses on their first drive. Neon lights and street lamps illuminate certain pockets around popular shops and busy passages.

This kind of photography is outside of my comfort zone, usually when I'm out and about the city is buzzing with people and you are digging your way through the crowd. But it's always good to try something different and new. Speaking from experience, I have often acquired skills and unlocked new levels of mastery by diving into other fields that are only slightly related to what I'm passionate about. At least these morning adventures are teaching me about mindfulness and slowing down.

The second part of the collection is of the events that happened few hours later and the next day. There's this bookstore at the center of main pedestrian street that looks beautiful and always begs for photographing. In one corner by the window there's a white sculpture of our Nobel price winner, Ivo Andric (it is my assumption by the looks of it) reading a book and so I stood by and tried to capture a passerby that's also in white next to it.

Another moment worth mentioning was of an interesting family of three - poodle, little girl and mom. Unfortunately I missed the shot (as you'll see) of a dog watching with lustful eyes as the girl is biting her donut. The mom is also carrying a doll of a similar white dog - plenty of opportunities with this well looking family that I didn't take full advantage of.

I do hope you like the photos. Taken with Fuji X-Pro2 + 35mm F/2 Fujinon lens.

I always enjoy these moody photos, the lighting at night is always tricky for me, so I never get the shots to look any good. I liked the one of the poodle and the girl with the donut, that's my favourite but the lady in white walking by the statue was a great capture of coincidence.

And I also see that it's your Hive Birthday. Awesome stuff, congratulations and may there be many many more to come 🎂 🎯 📷 7️⃣

Oh wow I haven't even noticed, although I knew it comes coming up... 7 years, how time flies! :D Thank you for the wishes!

Glad you enjoyed the photos! And yes, those two stood out for me as well, although I wish I didn't misfire that photo of the girl and the poodle.

I still think that you got a great pic of the girl, but I often miss the moment I saw as best, it happens, so I know the feeling. I'm sure you will get other pics that will make up for it 😊

The portrait of the city at dawn is very beautiful with residents still active. I love your city.
