Greetings friends, today I join the POBphotocontest New Round: INSECTS contest to introduce you to an insect that has been one of my favorites since my childhood, dragonflies. This time I will give my point of view on the belief that these insects make extraordinary things happen when they visit a home.

In my small town they call them little horses, although in reality they are insects, I don't know why they give them that name. As I told you I have enjoyed them since I was a little girl, I remember playing with them, catching them and then releasing them, I love to see them fly and contemplate their diverse range of colors.

I confess that I thought they only existed in brown and green since they are the most common, but a few years ago I saw some in my mom's house in fuchsia and orange, they really surprised me, they looked beautiful.

A few days ago I had the nice visit at my house of one of these insects, its color was really beautiful, its wings shone in a pearly brown tone, tending towards bronze color. You can see it in the photo, it is a fantastic color, the magic of nature surprises me every day.

Some people say that these animals bring good luck and even think that they augur pleasant visits. I particularly think that these are popular beliefs since these appear in my home with certain frequency but so far I have not won the lottery nor has anything extraordinary happened to me, however I respect the opinions that others may have in this regard. If a good economic opportunity comes my way in the next few days I will attribute it to the dragonfly that visited me and I promise to do a post in case it happens. 😊

I think my biggest gain is the happiness they generate for me, I love to watch them and I enjoy their colorfulness. I know they play a role in the balance of the ecosystem, they are really harmless and free us from flies and mosquitoes, that is also a gain.

And what do you think... Do you think it is a myth or a reality? Do you have a story to tell us about it?

You can encourage you to participate in this contest by showing us the insects that you can find in your area. Greetings! 🤗

Saludos! 🤗

In the country where I was born, they called these insects fairy horses, so it is similar to how they are called in your town. I didn't know about the belief that they bring luck... but it is already a very nice thing to see them and observe how beautiful they are ;)

Hi @harhess here they are not so numerous, when flapping they make a slight sound but as they don't appear so many at once they don't cause much disturbance. Thanks for commenting 🤗
