The RWASA BOD

The new Elected BOD of FlorVil RWASA was conducted last August 7,2022. Also, we had here the two plumbers we trained last September 2022.

RWASA is Rural Water Sanitation Association, a non-profit association here in Macrohon, Southern Leyte. A water distribution was given by DAR last year in 2000. Managed by the BOD elected by the association to manage and maintain water lines.

Because of Typhoon Odette that hit Southern Leyte last December and this damaged our piping a lot, the financial crisis hit it hard, so the old BOD decided to elect new management as they couldn't handle it anymore. And so, here we are. Sacrifice ourselves to serve here, with few honorarium, but start with none.

We ordered this sleeve type coupling, and arrive two weeks from our area before we installed it.

This pipe has been damaged since before we became BOD. The pressure here is so high and the pipe damaged and temporary repair can't last a month.

This coupling cost around $25 and its not available in local store in our province. We ordered it from Manila but the cost is too high for us to buy another.

As we counted the numbers of disallign and pipes and damage union, we had 20 plus area. This piping was 20 plus of age already, so the price of buying new fittings is a problem so often that we need to handle our finances, which is so thin.

But all in all, our BOD managed to repair temporarily damaged pipes until we bought this sleeve type coupling for permanent repair. We had already bought only three until now.
